Hi, I'm wondering does any VF member here use this speaker before?
    http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-THX-Certi...id=M3S7QYZQHKM2

The reason I found this just because a lot of positive feedbacks about this product, and it seems like the price doesn't cost that much as comparing with other 5.1 speakers.
I'm also wondering where is the place I can hear this in person?
The info I have online are all about selling like Amazon and newegg. Does anyone can recommend the real stores for the speakers(in CA)? I'll appreciate that!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Get the longest warranty possible. I own this set and two of my friends own the same set as well. We all bought them from the same store when they were on sale a couple of years ago.

In the years since at least one or two speakers for each of us has died.

Logitech makes computer peripherals, they aren't speaker manufacturers. These are decent speakers, but way overpriced for the sound quality that you get. If they were sub $200 a set, it would be fine. But over $200 is a total rip off. You are better off getting speakers from a long-time speaker manufacturer like Polk Audio. For example:

    http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Channel-Theater-Speaker/dp/B0002WTK4S/ref=dp_cp_ob_e_title_0

$238 (you can get in under $250 on ebay with shipping)

Pair that with this Yamaha Receiver:

    http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-RX-V363BL-5...35644015&sr=8-1

    $159

If you look around I'm sure you can get the prices down even further.

An additional consideration is that you can plug multiple consoles into a combo like this. A Yamaha Receiver (or most newly released receivers) will take in HDMI (PS3, Xbox 360), Component (Wii, XBOX, XBOX 360) or Regular RCA plugs. You can also plug-in multiple optical inputs for Sat Receiver, DVD Player, PS3 Blu-Ray or a Computer etc.

If you crank the volume up on the Logitech set and the Polk/Yamaha combo, the latter one will play several times louder and clearer. In reality the Polk 6750's are relabeled RM6500's with a different/new sub.

A few years ago gear with this technology would have cost you over $1000 and you can probably get it today under $400 shipped.

I got these on a crazy sale for about 250 years ago and still love them. Don't listen to the haters!!! My computer is my entertainment hub. Movies, games, music, etc is all done through these and I love them. The bass is deep enough and the satellites all have enough power to give you the 5.1 experience.

    Thanks for the replying guys~
One more reason why I'm interested in Z5500 b/c it has DTS decoder too, and the price is under $300 plus I don't need to buy a extra receiver. Actually I'm struggling with the money so I have to cut it down. If my budget is under $350, any suggestion? And my purpose is to use PS3, Xbox360, and hopefully HTPC in the future. I'm also looking for a HDTV and now I'm stick with Samsung A650 http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LN46A650-4...id=M3S7QYZQHKM2

I have researched for a while and I'm really considering these two items. All I need to do is waiting for a good timing and try to save as much as I can. How do you guys think about this combo? Is that worth??

For the TV, go to a store to compare the Samsung A650 series with the Sony W4100 series. Both 46" TVs are the same price or very close. W4100 has a matte screen to prevent glare.

For Audio, I recommend getting a receiver that's listed in this thread. I that passing HMDI sound without loss is a good thing. Note that the receivers in the list usually do NOT include speakers. I know little about speakers and will no offer advice there.

Yes, both SamsungA650 and SonyW4100 have pretty close prices and I believe they are in the same level, but W4100 seems doesn't have 10bits screen. I have compared with two TVs in a store but they were placed pretty far and didn't have the same light source, so I couldn't judge fairly. Maybe I should go to your place in Socal to check it out!!!!Haha~
The most confusing thing is about the speakers and receiver coz I don't have enough chance to listen by myself!!!
Anyway, thanks for the information and I'll really consider too.

Some sources say the W4100 is 10-bit. Even in the big 4100 thread on avsforum, people aren't sure.

    Yes, W4100 is 10-bit.
40' and 52' are with Samsung screen, 46' is Samusung or Sharp.

Btw, Plague, if you do have enough budget, go get XBR7!!!!!!
