    Hey~
I'm wondering does anyone use wireless for your xbox360??
How about the connection quality between wire and wireless??

My friend said he can get a cheap wireless set for me if I need, but I haven't use it before. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif If the quality is good enough, I might get one~~ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
    Thanks~~

I have one and use it for everything but fighters. I don't recommend this if you are going to use it to play VF, SF4, etc. Anything else like driving games, gears of war, etc it works fine. Just my 2 cents! If you can get one cheap it doesn't hurt to get it as it's pretty damn expensive without a discount. I only got mines because I had a $50 gift card to best buy and couldn't figure out what to use it on. If I had to pay the full price I would never buy this thing.

From my experience it's always best to plug directly into your router, no matter what kind of game you're playing.

Like Feck said, direct connect is the best. NO EXCEPTIONS! I own 2 Xbox360 and when I am not playing VF, I am usually playing the other in my bedroom on a wireless connection. I can say that anything else i have played online with the exception of fighters has played flawlessly. I did played VF a few times and had very playable matches, but I did notice that where I would normally have 4 bars I would have 3 bars in some cases.

As long as your machine is not to far away from the wireless source you should be fine for sports games, etc. Luckily for me my source is really only separated by a wall, so I can't say it will breed the same results as me if you live in a home and the source is on another floor. Maybe you can ask BK. I think he was on wireless for some time and his source was fairly far away from his 360 and he was still managing to play VF online against people fairly well all the way from Europe.

FYI, for those who are looking for extra feedback:

I use the wireless adapter, however, my xbox is only mere few feet away. I've haven't any real issues at all and the reason I didn't opt for a rj45 was purely cosmetic. (I didn't like having a cable running from my coffee table to the router)

When it comes to problems with wireless, the distance to your router is not a significant issue as things like external interference (other sources, structures, obstacles, etc). That is, the problems you can encounter with wireless may be largely or entirely out of your control. And that sucks.

If you want to "guarantee" the best performance, especially when it comes to latency and throughput, then wired Ethernet is the way to go, IMO.

Other things to consider are whether you use the network alone, or share it with others (family, room mates, etc). If you share it with others, who also happen to connect via wireless, then it can seriously hamper your playing experience.

A previous post of mine, in reply to Konjou, goes into a little more detail as to why.

Right. I tried to imply that I didn't have any of the issues above. (just failed to give technical reason) I live alone in a one room loft with concrete floors (which would cause a problem if I were on a separate floor from my router) and I don't have any devices interfering so there really isn't anything getting in the way of my signal luckily.

thanks Myke, I totally forgot about your post to me a while back that pretty much summed it all up. Great information in that post, so I recommend reading it to anyone who is considering to go wireless.
