Click "home" and select one of your characters under "Virtua Fighter 4". There are several guides for Kage available there, and "Ken's Lei-Fei Dojo" is extremely useful. Good luck!

if you like to button-mash then i say lei. but i prefer kage. lei is a good character though. just try them all out and see which one is easiest for you to play as. don't think because you become good with jacky that he's your character because just about everyone's good with him. and definetly don't start out with akira, use one of the beginner characters first to get used to the game and then use whatever character you like. you may like a beginner one too of course. simply put, use who you want.

If you want a character that can use alot of combos continiously you should choose Lei-Fei but if you rather play with a mysterious ninja who knows how to make great attacks on distense and can throw an opponent high in the air and slam him to the ground you should choose Kage....
KAge is a bit more defensive then Lei might i mension

To get a good SOLID understanding of how the game system works, I suggest possibly JACKY, LAU, KAGE. Lei_fei is harder to master when your a complete newb /versus/images/icons/wink.gif. good luck dude.

I would add JEFFRY to a list like this.

    Between Lei Fei and Kage..
I think it's better to chooce Kage
While button-mashing with Lei Fei normally gives better result
    He's pretty complex..confusing

If you want to get into the system of the game
    I'd suggest Pai
    She's pretty much an all-rounder

"Getting into the system of the game" is way better with characters BlondeOne mentioned - Pai has no standard elbow, her high kicks differ etc. A newbie needs a straightforward character - therefore my choice would be Jacky or Lau. If I had to choose between Kage and Lei - pick the former, all the way. Kage has all the standard VF moves, like more-or-less regular elbow, sidekick, normal low kick, nice throws; and is rather easy to learn.

I say you play through the training mode with each character once to figure out which one you thnk is the least homo then just play them.

Just go through training (command and trial) then you should find the character who suits you. Lion is pretty good, since he has a lot of poking and disruptor moves. His Sabaki move ([2][1][4][P][P]) is his only defense other than blocking. It deflects high kicks, mid kicks, knee, mid punch and high punch. Other than what I said, train with every character you're interested in. Try a slow character, then a fast character to narrow down your taste. Good luck.
