Same is true here in NYC. CREWny, AdamYuki, piccolo, hiro-san... and many more that they have trained from n00b(9kyu) to accomplished level(5Dan+) all share strats without fear and that nevers ceases to amaze me. /versus/images/icons/cool.gif One, it shows a level of depth to this virtual fighter and two, it shows the trueness to actual karate, Gung-fu, etc. <font color="33ff33">When Omaha Jeff visited NYC the summer we first saw VF3tb I had the opportunity to study Ron's Jeff gameplay from a tape sent to me from a bud a few weeks before he arrived in NYC and it actually helped me win a few rounds...Omaha Jeff quickly caught on though and soon began practicing ring out strats on my grubbi gamemanship. Hopefully, my game has progressed to the point where I can give them a worthy game or two.... /versus/images/icons/wink.gif gg later.

How did they do it? I wondered that the first time. Man VF2 is so old but it plays so freakin smooth Props to suzuki, It was probably the most revolutionary one in the series

I read something about them hacking an X68000 machine w/ a Saturn controller. Didn't really go into specifics, but I dont' tink it was done on a Saturn. Some type of emulator where they could chang the properties of the moves.

Well, we were thinking emulator + programmable pad... some of the combos are actually humanly doable, even in arcade... check out the original post here.

    programmable pad yeah, but emulator?
do you know something I don't about VF2 emulation? I've been waiting for that shit forEVER.

There weren't many details... just mention of an X68000 & a Saturn. It would have to be a hack though, as I don't think even a programmable pad could put the punches in that fast.

While I don't know the details of how these were performed, I don't imagine it to be too hard for, say, a 2nd year elec eng student (or anyone with an interest in electronics) to interface a simple processor so that it'd stimulate the control inputs of a saturn (or any console) necessary to perform what you see.

Oh, and what has this thread got to do with Chibita again?

Apparently, there are two emulators that run VF2 saturn... but I haven't witnessed this myself, so can't be sure. I heard one is japanese and one is Satourne (latest beta version).

What the thread has to do w/ Chibita is that that's what it feels like when you're playing him... a poor joke basically.

Eh... I know he's good but people, PLEASE stop wanking to him already! /versus/images/icons/crazy.gif

i've got plenty of other wanking material. But, that's about how it is. I did get one round in on him the other day.

Seriously. For a guy who's not in the top 10 of VF.net, he certainly has the following.

hmm...maybe it's the freakin' curtains he wears...or that underbite - yeah, must be the underbite.

Well, to be on the top 10, you really have to play A LOT. I believe he's got the highest percentage of wins, definitely for someone above 10,000 wins.

Hey man, it's Japan -- there's definitely MUCH worse out there. Very Austin Powers-ish w/ some people.

you've got to wonder what these guys do outside of gaming. do they have jobs? are they filthy stinking rich and have nothing else better to do? to rack up the amount of games they've played youd think it would take a lot of time.......

Yeah, I'm sure it does take time. I'm sure most of them have jobs though. Most of the guys I fight with have normal 9 to 8 Japanese jobs, then they go play VF4 at night.

Some people do finish early though.
