There's no option to do exactly that, but as an alternative, you can add any thread to your Watch List (available under My Stuff), and in your preferences you set the following:

By default should anything added to your Watch Lists be emailed to you?
[ ] Yes [ ] No

When making new posts or replies, there's a check box to add that thread to your Watch List when you submit.
