Favourite fighting game stages

Was just thinking of making a thread about this, so I'm glad Machinima did most of the work for me.


For me, I love Fetus of God myself, but wanted to add some others.





This is the only video I could find of VF2 Shun stage in the arcade version. The bridge is missing from the Saturn and PC versions I believe, so you guys kinda missed out. 00.35 - You think the bridge is just background until you pass under it and it's friggin HUGE and casts that HUGE shadow on you.



The Let's Go Onmyouji stage from Gouketsuji Ichizoku(updated version). This game is the whackiest game out there. Everything looks fine until you realise there are monks dancing behind those dividers.

The Airport stage in Tekken 4 was pretty cool.



Karin's stage in the original SFA3 looked pretty nice as well. Her other stage on the boat was killer, too.

 

I usually like Aquarium stages from Virtua Fighter 4, Dead or Alive 3 and Ultimate,, Bloody Roar 3. I also love the castle and palace stages from Virtua Fighter 4.

Dead or Alive 4 has the best stages and boobs.

 

Samurai Showdown 3 and Last Blade 2, have some amazing BG's.

Oh yeah, I wanted to add the Statue of Liberty stage from Dark Edge.

This game was Sega's attempt at making a 3D fighting game using 2D sprites(just before they did VF), so it's days were numbered from the start. Despite its flaws however(Death by camera angle!!), it was a fantastic effort. The environments were pretty epic for what they had to work with. Just a simple reflection and some ripple effects gave them some great looking water for the time.

 

Dark Edge looks pretty disorientating, I bet it was the shit back in it's day though. The little child in me thinks those graphics look amazing.

 

NOBODY LIKES XMEN VS STREET FIGHTER STAGES?!?! o__O

the BGM alone is worth listening to...
