Recently, while working on my own Goh blog, I stumbled upon DriftSilencer's one, which features a great coverage of Goh strategies, and in-detail move lists.

This thread is meant to forward players who are desperately searching for Goh blogs.

Post on VFDC! Blogs are not centralized enough. They seem to splinter the already small amount of posting on strategy/tactics.

I don't know if it applies to the other bloggers but sometimes I feel too intimidated to post a strategy of mine on the forum in a new topic before I've had ample time to test it out and see if it really will work. The blog lets me make my mistakes without it being a solid source for knowledge 'na mean? (sry couldn't help myself watching too much boondocks)

Anything I think to be important for the rest of vfdc and newbs to absolutely know (that isn't riddled with errors) I make a new thread for if it's new stuff or just post up. I think all the bloggers should do the same.

I do agree though it probably does splinter the postings, but I can't think of a better solution.

No I don' know what you mean.

Posting it here means more exposure to VFers. More eyes looking at your stuff means its more likely if something incorrect will be found and corrected.

Besides, hardly anyone clicks on links in sigs...

Posting it here is the best solution.

Not everything you are going to write for your blog is suitable for a forum topic. A blog merely represents your personal approach to a VF character, and that's what new players are really looking for: where do I start, which information for beginners with this char do I need, what should I look for, and so forth.

As well, the blog can represent a user database for the player that is writing it. While not too many new in-sights may come up (after all almost everything has been said somewhere) it helps to rephrase certain strategies, or present them anew in a different, more readable way, which to various more advanced players might be common knowledge. While the forum is great, it is not suitable for most of what players do with a blog.

That's untrue; my blog stats (where I can see from where ppl get referred to my blog) prove you wrong.

Yeah, but posting much needed Goh info in the forums would also bring attention too (where are you Shag?!).

But that's the problem. You can't create an entire how to approach Goh post for the forum which would fill endless pages. I also don't think that any valuable information, that could be posted here, gets lost due to blogging. It's merely a personal way for the blogger of recalling bits and pieces of information that are already available (Wiki, Dojo posts, etc.) making it an ideal opportunity for beginners to browse through it offering them a good start point to begin their research. It's not that the VF bloggers invent new techniques unknown to other VFers.

it's like a place you can combine all the knowledge that's already here on the forums in one place for your particular character. I must admit if my character had a wiki strat I probably wouldn't need a blog as much but I need somewhere to look at to review old tactics that maybe I've forgotten or things I'm trying to practice. I just straight up forget in the heat of training for weeks sometimes.

    I'm around. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif

I promised to write up some strats for Goh back in August but never got around to it, my bad. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif

If I was to write up something I would make sure that I would give out suggestions on things that I like to do and should not be a overall guide on how to play with Goh (or any character for that matter).

That's fine. I just think Goh insights coming from you is exactly what aspiring Gohs need.

/not kissing ass but giving an opinion based on what I've in vids

    (oh wait, that'll happen :^/)

I finally managed to complete the first part of the Blue Book on my Goh blog. I hope that it's a good read. ^.^

Thanks SS8. We are currently working hard at the Versus Arena part of the Blue Book where you get precise, tactical, Goh-related suggestions against any VF char.

Just curious, but why are you calling this a "Blue Book"? I was confused thinking you were translating something from the original (VF4) Blue Book.

I was wondering if you could direct me to the move section of the Blog, I'm still not sure what cuases the Hit throw from 2K+G or 8K+G

  18. Leonard_McCoy

Simply because of Goh. His somewhat main color is Blue (due to his Blue Judo suit). That's the secret behind it, already. It's no translation of the original Blue Book; it's completely made up of free available sources in the web, own experiences, and some advises from Goh players.

8 or 2K+G is triggered when the opponent either evades to the 8 or 2 side, if he tech-rolls to the 8 or 2 side, or [special case] if you and the opponent are fighting along-side the wall, then you can always 8K+G him if the wall is on the 8 side.

It's mostly used against tech-rollers, though.

I still haven't written much about this move, or the 6P+K+G, but it's on my to-do-list.

Thank you very much. I was wondering about this because I would get it sometimes if my opponent was in the midst of doing a low and, I always wondered why, I got it when I didn't mean to input it. I think it may have been something I missed on the screen but thanks for the clarification.
I'm really happy with how much fun Goh is, after figuring out how to Basara often enough, so I'm glad to see stuff out there to help.

I play Jeff mainly but I think that Goh covers some of the things that Jeff is weak against and can surprise people if I switch it up.

    P.S.
Not sucking up or being too happy with how things are going I just really enjoy the blog.
