Hidden moves?

This is probably common knowledge for long time VF followers but it's new to me.

So far I have noticed that Wolf can do two moves that are not actually in his command training.

    Those being:

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif~/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif cancels the kick but leaves the start up animation, the other characters can do this to.

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif(on hit)/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif

You can also do the fastest input variant so It could be considered three moves.

Has he got any more that I don't know of?

And what is the deal with these moves? Why don't they come up in command training?

What if it's not a true hit throw but it combos so it seems like it...

    It's a true hit throw.

If it wasn't then I'd be performing the giant swing instead of the emerald frosion.

Ahh, I didn't know that was the throw that came out. You must be right. Does Akira have any hidden moves???

I know he does the kick cancel but I don't know if he has anything else.

To be fair, this isn't a true move by itself. The command list in Dojo is slightly wrong. The Emerald Frosion moves are done after any move that results in a head collapse (not just Rolling Elbow).

The only two moves Wolf has that do this that I can think of are his Rolling Elbow (/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif) and Kenka Kick (/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif) on a counter hit.

Most characters can cancel their /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. Some can cancel the kick after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif.

I think it was listed in the command lists on earlier versions. It should be noted.

You are leaving a detail out. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Wolf's Kenka kick on counter hit (CH) will give a head crumple. If Wolf lands a head crumple he can immediately do an Emerald Frozen throw. If done with the fastest input he gets a +10 damage bonus.

The Emerald Frozen variants are listed under his throws.

You can also perform the Emerald Frozen if you hit with his Rolling Elbow /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or if his wall attack connects.

    What wall attack?

The wall attack's not hidden (se Dojo mode), but I guess the head crumple effect's not something you think about. Hmmm.... I'll have to try that.

I stumbled upon a Toe Kick - Rude Awakening (Neck Breaker Drop) with Wolf vs a friend.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif on hit while behind opponent.

I was lmao when it landed and his jaw just hit the floor! He was doing a back turned move or something with Kage and all of a sudden, RUDE AWAKENING!

its not hit while behind opponent.. its anytime the move hits and you hit P+G at the right time... one of wolf's best moves..

But it wrestling terms, it's two different moves from either side. It's a Front Neckbreaker, known to WWE fans as an Ace Crusher or Stone Cold Stunner(shortened to Stunner), but from the back, it's a reverse neckbreaker/stunner, which ends very similarly to the Rude Awakening.

I'm watching WWE RAW even as I type. lol

Everything discussed in this thread is documented in the VF5 Wolf Command List here on VFDC.

    Yes. Everything.

In any of the Grd, Hit or CH columns, cr.h = head crumple.

All the abbreviations are fully explained in the Command List Legend, which you can find a link to when viewing the Command List.

The sober notes are only a reference to when facing Shun. Everyone knows that he has moves where he can get more drunk which raise his drinking points and allow him to use more moves, but certain moves when hit on him will lower the DP and prevent him from using the newer moves.

    For example: Shun vs Wolf

Shun uses his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw, knocks the opponent down and takes a drink. His DP becomes 4. Wolf retalliates and hits the PGS, which takes 3DP off, and leaves Shun with 1DP.

Good point. Also, I should premise that I don't own the game... but I noticed other variations in Wolf's command list when a hit (or catch, see the Frankensteiner) throw is done from behind. Unfortunately not always does the list explain the changes, aside from damage variation (normally a +5). I mean, the command list shows Burning Hammer and Burning Driver as different moves (and they are different...); but I wonder why doesn't it do the same with Toe kick-Stunner and Toe Kick-Rude Awakening. Furthermore, I ask you lucky owners of the game: how changes aestethically a Ogre Slash-Half Nelson Suplex if done from behind? Judging from the augmented damage, I can only guess it could be a suplex more brutal than Half Nelson, and the only option I could figure out (and always from Kenta Kobashi's arsenal) is the Sleeper Suplex. Basically the same move, except that the arm normally (in a Half Nelson Suplex) positioned around the waist of the victim is wrapped around the neck. Can anyone confirm my guess? It's only for my curiosity. Thank you in advance. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Wow, many thanks. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif Though I've guessed wrong: it's a Single-arm front suplex, or Schlauder - as Maeda or Takada would name it.

I was trying to find a way to describe it, as it kinda reminds me of a hip toss (the initial arm position of Wolf), front suplex and Exploder all rolled into one.
