If PS3 VF5 had online, would it been more popular?

If the PS3 version of VF5, would of had online, would you think it would of been more popular in general?I think VF5 didn't sell well on the ps3, was because of its' horrible AI in the Quest mode, lack of content, lack of online, lack of training mode and bland stages.

But I think the AI was/is the major let down of this game. If your opponent wasn't dead stupid, it would been a mind reader. It would know exactly what move you would make, so it can block it or counter it.

So because of that, many new fans would say " this shit is wack". For the soul porpuse of you sucking in the game horribly. But if it had online from the start, I could of imagine the general public would of liked this game a bit more. But now that the damage is done, I don't think the 360 version could help it.

Unless this new VF5R brings something new to the table.

Didn't the ps3 ver sell better than the 360? Of course it would have been more popular, thats obvious. The 360 ver should have been the ps3 ver, and 360 should be ver D. So instead we get a rushed VF5. Then T5DR went online, M$ throws some money around and viola! You have an online ver that they said never would happen.

i think it would simply because those people who use the pad love the ps3 pad over the xbox, plus the jap market hates xbox

People tend to trust PS to make a better fighting game in general and the controller by default be way better this is probably why there PSX adapters for the Xbox, Gamecube, PS3, and 360 ( I have all of them by the way). PS3 would have the superior version of the game period as far as popularity far beyond what it is now. and even though VF came out on 360 no one would buy it because PS overall is known as a better console for fighters for the most part. I can't wait for VF5 R I wonder how it will be like.

ps3 sold better than 360; would it have sold more? i'd like to think so as it would have been ps3's first online fighter. then again i think it would have had the same issues as t5:dr suffered.

then again, i'm not too positive on what the process is as to how ps3 does it's internet connectivity and if there's anything programmers can do to minimize lag.

Well, the 360 version was built for online(Unlike the PS3 version) As it being more popular....I don't know. To tell you the truth. One thing for sure(LIVE)made the community alot more vibrant, that's for sure. If the next version of VF5 comes for the PS3 online, I'm getting it. Same for the 360 version.

    IF PS3 would have had online VF5, I would have gotten a PS3 instead of a 360

If the Wii had been the console with VF5 Online, I would have bought a Wii. If the PC had been the one to get VF5 Online, I would have bought it for that. If...If...If.

Bottom line - there are not enough VFers to even make this a valid debate. It's not like VerD VF5 is going to get released and voila! 500 North American VFers suddenly appear, all with 0 lag uber skills and a Pro VF Tournament league arises with millions in prizes and tshirts with frilly edges the light up when you get a major counter! OMG!!

If VerD online for VF5 comes out on the Wii, buy a Wii. If it comes out for the PS3, buy a PS3. Save your pennies if you're still at the stage of having your own paper route, or ask you wife/mom/dad for some gift certificates, or go to a friends house, or or or or...

I truly have never understood the desire to dream on about the hypothetical.

As crazy as that may sound, that's kinda of what's happened. For me I know I've never played Virtual Fighter to begin with. Sure maybe over the years I heard the name and stuff, but it was always a 'meh' game to me, and I'm a huge fan of fighting games.

Out comes the 360 version of this with online play and all of a sudden I'm all about VF5 now, and I know I'm not the only one. I have both systems and even when it came out for PS3 I still didn't buy it.

The fact that VF5 has replaced DOA for this years World Cyber Games proves that it's gaining momentum and getting the praise it deserves. All it needs now is more players. And there's never a shortage of players when I play online so yeah...

The only bad thing about all of this is that it never came with online capability for PS3, you can only imagine what the online scene would be like with the majority of Japanese players preferring Sony or MS. Maybe VF5R??

They sold 130,000 copies of the game for XBOX 360? If that's the case then SEGA definitely made money on the 360 version of the game...

At $60 bucks a pop, that's at least $7,800,000 just for XBOX 360 game sales plus the money from any downloadable content they sold on top of that. No way it cost that much (~8 million dollars) to port the game to 360 so it was more than likely it was a profitable venture for SEGA regardless.

Probably cost them around 1 million to port the game (just a very wild guess) so I figure they made about $7 million dollarrs profit on the 360 port.

If VF5 R comes out on PS3 then you will be at an advantage then so just be patient and wait for it. That is one reason I keep my PS3 both VF5 R, Tekken 6 (possibly), and SC4

This is the only reason why I am still holding out. It's not a matter of having both systems. I do not make a lot of money, I put so much into my PS3, I would hate to sell it for a 360 only to have VF5 R come out on PS3.
