Im new and a few questions

Ok, Im new and have a few questions first what is a reversal and secondly how do u excecute a throw cos when I try im get hit cos im to close.

to throw press p+g when in close. each character has lots more throws though, so consult a FAQ (www.gamefaqs.com).
to reverse a high punch press b+p+k (only works with aoi, akira, pai or kage).
