Items in Evo

Well, now that Evo has finally been confirmed for PS2; maybe someone can answer some questions I've been pondering regarding the items. Are ALL of the original items from VF4 also in Evo? For instance, did they keep all of the old items intact, and just include a ton of additional new ones; or did they replace all of the old items from VF4 with new items in Evo? I would hate to see items such as Aoi's blond ponytail, Jeffry's indigo bandana, Wolf's face paint and long hair all totally removed or replaced by new items in Evo. Also, it would be nice if you can use your existing player file from PS2 VF4 with Evo. That way, we can just do minor visual upgrades to our characters without having to research for our favorite items from VF4; then again, that might be fun to do again as long as I knew those items were still intact in the new version. Anyway, if anyone can answer these questions; thanks in advance...

Operative word here: *confirmed*. This means that no one has seen or played the PS2 version yet. So, we really have no idea if items from VF4 have been excluded. However, I would imagine that the items from VF4 would still be included - if you think about it, why would they be removed?

[/ QUOTE ] I doubt you'll be able to use your Ver.C files in Evo. When Evo was released in the arcades in Japan, all players had to buy new Evo cards, meaning Ver.C cards were useless on the new machines. The same "should" be true for the PS2 version. I'm hoping it's possible to gain a new Evo item if you have Ver.C spheres though....like that glowing bracelet I've seen in clips.

 

Well, I guess what I was asking was (should've been more clear on this) does anyone know if the arcade Evo has all of the old items that were in version C? There are a few items missing from Evo that were in Ver. C., although I can only think of a few. It could be that nobody has unlocked them yet, but I'm sure there's a few that they just didnt' bother with.

I was kinda hoping you'd respond cause I know you've played Evo for the last 6 months or so. Did they keep the cooler items from version C? My personal favs are: Aoi's blond ponytail, Wolf's long hair, his face paint, and Jeff's indigo bandana? Also, did you notice if there are new/additional colors (color coordinates) for each character in Evo? Besides the existing ones of course. I can't wait for the PS2 version of this game. Since I've had zero exposure to the arcade version; I'm just concerned whether or not some of the stuff I loved from version C is still intact.

 

Aoi's Japanese Ponytail is still there, although it was a present item only (C->Evo present service), and I don't have it (damn it). They'll probably put it in the shop soon, as they did w/ her drum, and the demon mask. Aoi Short, also a present item, that's not for sale yet, and I don't have it.

Hair Color w/ her, like all other characters, is for sale (cheap) but only lasts two weeks.

Not sure bout Wolf or Jeffry.

Colors:
yes, there are new colors
Gold -- I believe you get this when you rank up to Taisho -- good freakin' luck.
Silver -- A present if you were Ha-oh or over on Version C, but now for sale for each character for 8000G.
New Color:
Different per character. Lei Fei & Lion are BRIGHT white, Aoi is Metallic Blue, Shun Purple - not sure about the rest. Those are 6000G
And another 'normal' color or two has been added I believe. Depends on the character. I have seen two different blues (light & navy) for Lion, so they're there, and I'm sure more to come.

I hadn't heard, previous to your post GP, that there was a timer on items. Don't know how I feel about that one.

On the brighter side I don't see them implementing that on the PS2 version and considering the fact that I live in a small town in Canada with only one VF4 arcade... The PS2 is the only way to play the game.

Only hair-color & eye-color have timers. The items run between 500G & 1500G. A bit steap for just two weeks.

 

do you mean all the hair items or are hair colors a separate thing now?

 

I think he means specific special hair colors are 2-weeks-only. Hair-related items like Jeffry's afro are probably still available all the time, and some hair colors may be permanent as well (jacky with brown hair eg?).

 

Ok after a farely extensive search, I have come to the conclusion that I can ask this with out being a total idiot. Could anyone tell me how many "Item Catogories" characters have. In VF 4 there were only 4 per charcter, and frankly they were awfully divided. Having to choose between giving Aoi a necklace or a skirt isn't very fun. Although getting the list for every character's catagories would be awsome, just the number of them would be enough.

If this information is already out there, I do appologize and I would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.

In Evo arcade, there are 4 catagories, head, face, upper body, and lower body; same as version C.

I've seen a clip with a Aoi having both a skirt mod and a folded fan at the same time. And to answer an earlier question: Some of the Ver. C items seems freshed up. Like Aoi's folded fan that's more colorful, more red.
