For combos from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, combo 1 works on characters up to Akira's weight. Against Wolf in open stance, if you can do it without any frame delay on the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif it is his best damage combo, but if you lack confidence you should probably skip it. Combo 2 works on light weights and Blaze, Goh, Lau, Shun, Brad and Kage in closed stance, and is better damage than combo 1. Combo 3 and 4 work on Wolf in closed stance. Combo 3 gives better openings afterwards whereas 4 concentrates on damage. Combo 5 works on Jeffrey starting in open stance, combo 6 in closed stance. Combo 7 is to go for close to a wall. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif hits them into the wall, and then Doku /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif follows up. Combo 8 is also a wall combo, where the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif sticks them to the wall at the highest point, giving best damage.

After /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, combo 9 works on everyone except heavy weights and Jacky. It works in closed stance and the damage is the largest. In open stance against Eileen and Lau it works, and against Kage and Goh if you do the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif of the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif like you were trying to drop frames it will connect. Combo 10 is the combo you want to use on heavy weights. COmbo 11 is a Brad only combo, and you don't want to do it ASAP, you want to slighty delay the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif to get it to connect. Combo 12 works on Sarah, Blaze, Lion, Shun and Jacky in open stance. Use combo 13 against Vanessa and Lei in open stance. Combo 15 is a Aoi only open stance combo. Combo 14 is open stance and works against all characters, and while the damage is low the okizeme is good. Combo 16 works on all characters in open stance except Jeffrey, but the final down attack can be tech rolled and against characters that recover well won't be guaranteed. Use it in battles against Shun to sober him up.
After stomach crumple, combo 17 works on Shun, Blaze and Aoi, Eileen in open stance. Shun and Blaze take combo 19. Combo 18 relies on the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif refloating, so don't input it ASAP. Combo 18 works on all characters, so use it on character where combo 17 won't connect. Combo 20 works on open stance Aoi, Eileen and Lei etc., and does the same damage as 17. The /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif should on Aoi and Lei should be slightly slower than the one in combo 18. Combo 21 wroks against light weights and light heavy weights in closed stance, and should be used to carry for distance.
Combos from throws, combo 22 is only for Eileen. Aoi can just-ukemi on either the 2nd or 3rd hit but it is difficult, and if she misses it it is the best damage.
Combo 23 works on all but Heavy weights and Jacky, but it is very strict on Akira. The /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif timing is important, against light weights it is easy but if you don't vary it according to character it can be tech rolled. Combo 24 works on all characters, but does quite a bit less than enders like /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif.
Combos 25 and 26 are ground combos, and in particular combo 26 does greater than 40%, so make sure you get it.
For wall combos, combo 27 works on heavy weights. Combo 28 works easily on non-heavy weights, just check that the wall hit occurs before going for the final hit. Combo 29 works on light weights and does more than 28.
For head crumples, combo 31 and 32 are the basics. Combo 13 knocks them down just as they are hit, so it's easy to miss the ukemi timing. Have a down attack at the ready.
For side crumples, if you are close go for 31, otherwise go for the guaranteed 32.
For wall splats, combo 36 is fairly reliable, combo 37 is for when you are at a diagonal to the wall. Combo 38's most important points is the backdash /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif into [dbk]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, if you can get that it does the most powerful damage.

 

Just for the record, I find it very hard to work out what the Japanese means when it says something like "Blaze, Kage, Aoi and Lei Fei in open stance." I don't know how to differentiate whether this means only Lei Fei in open stance (i.e. Lei Fei open stance only) or if the open stance refers to all those characters. I try to transcribe as closely as possible to the Japanese as I can, so the ambiguity is at least retained and not worsened (or mistaken) but I would appreciate knowing the best way to do this.

 

I do get the open and closed thing, and how it refers to both characters relative footing.

But, if the list says combo 1 works on Jacky, Lei and Goh in closed stance, I can't work out whether it means

Jacky - closed, Lei - closed, Goh - closed.

Or, Jacky - open + closed, Lei - open + closed, Goh - closed.

There are times where they change the sentence structure, e.g.

Jacky, Lei, Goh closed

vs.

Jacky, and Lei, Goh closed.

Maybe I'm overanalysing it, I'll probably continue to try direct translations. But, if anyone finds things which are the opposite of how they are written here, let me know and I can check it back against the Japanese, and then have a better idea for next time.

(No offence taken, I find it hard to phrase the question about something I'm having a hard time understanding in the first place.)

Are these black book Combo List for Lei Fei his main combos?
Or are these 38 combos it for Lei Fei?

Are these 38 the same in VF5FS? Do they do the same damage?

 

Have u ever watched a FS vid? Most of Leis combos have changed.
Dont worry from what ive seen FS Lei combos seem to be easy to execute

 

VF5 Version C and FS Lei-Combos are not the same and do not do the same amount of damage. You cannot use 33P with stances anymore...instead 3P P+K+G is used. That way you go to the Kyoshiki-Stance and combos similar to these of Version C can be done.

Since i've already played Lei-Fei in Final Showdown i can say that most of the combos are not that difficult even though you have to adapt to 1P+K-Combos on various distances and to his sabaki, which was weakened. Combos straight to the wall from normal launchers with appropriate Endings seemed harder to me and i see a lot of japanese Players failing to hit the opponent.

The wall-combos from 33P or 1 K+G are quite easy even though good angle is more important thatn in Ver. C. Unfortunately i haven't played FS Ver. A yet..."wall combo design" is a little bit different here.

So at this point can I safely say there are no undocumented moves and no undocumented combos for Lei Fei

 

If you only have PS3 version, combo list Ver.C is no use for you.

If you want to see the complete FS Ver.A combo list, you have to wait, just like everyone else.

 

@akai I'm assuming VF5FS will be version C right? Or am I wrong? I want to know just how different the combos I'm practicing on everyday are from the combos that will be in VF5FS.

Although I always talk about losing, I would at least like to put a little fight before I succumb to the inevitable once VF5FS hits the streets.

If the combos are very different or more difficult to pull off them I'm in deep doo doo. However, If I can easily pull of 20 to 30 of Lei Fei's VF5 ver B combos whenever necessary and there is not much different in the combos in
VF5FS, then I can bring my losing panzy schemes to work.

 

The update version is FS Ver.A, and most likely we will have the same on consoles. Normally if you are capable of doing all ver.b combos well, then there is no big deal for you to practice FS combos. You worry too much.
