That's right. My man LM_Akira is on British TV's on 9th July 2005. 7.15-8.15. ITV. The programme is called 'With a Little Help from my Friends' and revolves around Jennifer Ellison, and a lot of redecorating and hardwork.

Look for the dude in glasses surrounded by fit women. Lucky Sod! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    Haha.

I was thinking of actually starting a thread on this myself called "15 seconds of fame".

But yeah, I'm on this saturday evening as Ade says (for anyone who knows me). I'll stand out a mile as I was one of the only guys to be involved in the programme...plus half the time I have

    So what's the show about?

The show is bascially where a group of friends of a 'celebrity' (and I use the term looseley LOL) build/reinnovate a house/building and the 'celebrity' takes the credit for it. A nice slice of 15 minutes of fame for LM, though. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, essentially there was a group of about 20 or so people who used to go to school with Jennifer Ellison (minor celeb over here, done a soap opera, had an album out, done a film and a bit on the west end) who were contacted via Friends Reunited and we were basically set the challenge of renovating an old house and garden for disadvantaged young families in Liverpool to use.

The show reunites celebs with old school chums and they must try and blag all the materials and construction stuff used in the programme for free. It's a race against time to get the task completed within a 5 day span and at the end of the time, the people who are intended to use the facility all come in to meet us and get on camera.

It was quite a lot of hard work (not suprising when you consider there were 3/4 guys and 18 girls or so) but it was good to be involved with a worth while charitable project.

Here's a brief link about the show:

Better than that, here's a summary of what we did:

See the turf she's sat on? I layed that! See the flowers and hedges in the background? I planted them!

I dont have cable, but I do sometimes catch the BBC world news on the public channel. Do you think that they would breadcast this on it?

It would be interesting to see a fellow VF'er doing something for a charitable cause. Also, congrats on your 15 mins of fame. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cheers and nope, it won't get shown on the BBC, only on ITV (a rival to the BBC over here).

Actually BBC America does show quite a few shows that other channels have back in the UK.

Really? Well it was shot under the umbrella of "factual entertainment North West granada" or something. I wonder if it'll leapfrog to BBC America.

They seem to have a ton of those makeover shows on BBC America over here, not sure if the one you're on is one of them though.

It's shown on ITV over here (channel 3). Don't know if you can get that channel?
