Marvel Vs EA

Looks like Capcom lost its Marvel liscense to EA. As much fun I've had with the Capcom games, I can't say that I'm sorry. Just wondering what sort of new blood EA will breed into the genera. I just hope that EA can generate a quality fighting game.

What on Earth are EA gonna bring to the beat em up genre? These games will be an absolute joke and no skill or depth of play involved and we'll have to put up with cheesy ads proclaiming them as the best beat em ups ever! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I cant believe you're completely oblivious to the hard work Capcom put into their licenced games - are the production values completely invisible to you? the Marvel licence was in no way wasted by Capcom, EA on the other hand will churn out complete shit which will depressingly sell well.

 

no, you misunderstand me here. i actually enjoy MVC2 and the predecessors. and i've always wanted a Marvel game by capcom that wasn't in a Vs setting (you know, old school SF style, like CVS2). and nobody certainly doubts the greats that Capcom has provided the gaming world with.

buuuut, imho, Capcom has long lost its edge. recycling can get only so far. it lost the 2D throne to GGX2, which if Capcom continued to innovate, could have easily kept. and it's entries into the 3D realm haven't exactly been a resounding success. and i don't think Capcom even cares anymore- they have their milk cows in ther other generas already.

EA? yeah, they are total noobs in the field, and i agree that the likelyhood of they producing another SF, VF, GGXX, is somewhat against them. but hey, they are good developers nevertheless, with solid financial standings, and you just never know.

With concerns to EA taking Marvels contract, I am disappointed for one reason. I wanted to see a MvC3 . Aside from that, maybe a new direction is what marvel needs. Its never ending line of sucky games (*cough wolverine, hulk *cough*) needs to stop. But i dont know if capcom made those games. *shrug*

PS. If John Madden is a secret character, that my friend, would be the icing on the cake. Lol consider me an official EA vs Capcom player if that's the case.

I bet they'll add The Sims crap to the game, but wtf would they want EA characters in the game, I guess putting Eddy from the snowboarding game would be cool, but I seriously can't think of anyone, and what football character would they put tough? John Madden would be a cool tough.

 

i bet EA are working on a brand new sims add-on that allows you to call for marvel aid when your house is on fire or your house gets robbed...........can imagine calling wolvarine when robbers steal my couch /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What i wanted was a new vs game with only one fighter on each team, and better balance with the fighting. Marvel super heros was and still is the best capcom Marvel fighting game. Also they got lazy using the same sprites all over again. I mean they could of made more new characters in there games. Like the Thing. Thor. Mr fantastic the Human torch. Some real spiderman villians like Kraven the Hunter Scorpion Dr octopus ect...., all the villains created by Steve Diko. I wont really miss them having the license too much as they never did anything that good with it after Street Fighter vs X Men.

 

Well, 007 will make an apearance, thats cooler than what capcoom had to offer.
