NYC 1 Year Anniversary Tourney at GTN

Last October, NYC VF'ers found a new home at Game Time Nation. To celebrate, I'm hosting a VF party on Saturday October 8, 2005. The main event is a VF4:FT tournament. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Signups will start at 3PM.
Tournament will start promptly at 4PM.

Format: Virtua Fighter 4: Final Tuned ver. A on versus city cabinet.

Rules:
Double elimination bracket. Matches are best of 3 games, best of 5 for winners and losers finals, best of 7 for grand finals. VF.Net registered cards allowed.

Entry Fee is $5. 1st place receives 70% of the pot, 2nd places gets 20%, 3rd places wins 10%.

Union Square is the nearest stop. The R, Q, N, 4, 5, 6 stop there.

10/8 Tourney update info

GTN will have a private party that finishes at 4PM on the day of the tournament. Due to this, last minute signups will start at 4. The first matches should start around 5PM.

I'm requesting that people please signup here so I can prepare the brackets.

after the tourney if everyone still has time, I would like to do a quick team battle tourney for Hiro-kun. We will just make 2 teams out of the amount of people that show up. See everyone there!

Hey guys, hope it was fun. I just woke up (holy cow, 16 hours of sleep) after pulling 3 almost-all-nighters.

10/8 tourney results

I really want to thank the people that showed up. With the torrent rain and shitty weekend train service, I almost didnt want to make it. I know it dettered some. I hope everyone had fun. I want to especially thank Hiro for parcticpating while he was in town.

Tournament start time was 6:30. 12 players: adamYUKI, hiro, kazu, Konjou_Akira, kungfusmurf, Oioron, raziel666, Rheinaoi, Shag, sta783, Subbers, virtuaPAI

Winners:

1st Kazu
2nd Adam (adamYUKI)
3rd Rodney (Konjou_Akira)

Highlights: Kazu lost the winners final against Adam but came back in the grand with 4-2, 4-3 sets. Exceptional play Kazu. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif (he didn't even use the Japanese button) /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

you guys should be complimented on your scene as well. fantastic that even with people not showing you had a tournament that was 12 strong.

I too thought that the 12 people were very solid showing.
...especially that NYC is in the middle of 7-day raining day streak.
And the tournament day was definitely one of the worst I've seen
in a long time.
