A legit but eccentric VF4 question.

    [Flame-Proof ON]

In the background of Pai's stage, does the dolphin do a back
    flip at random?
Or does it do a back flip whenever Pai does a back flip, but
not when she does a front flip?
Or whenever either Pai or her enemy does a back flip?

There are dolphins? Never noticed. I've only noticed others like jellyfish, squid and the humongous fish... it exists... some Amazon fish that starts with G.

I think you're thinking about a gar, although the one in Pai's stage looks more like a Whale Shark to me.

    Re: [Q] Pai's stage II

There's a dolphin in one corner of the background of Pai's stage. When a round begins and that corner is in the background, the dolphin quickly comes to loiter behind Pai. The dolphin sometimes does a back flip, which *I suspect* happens when one or both of the chara in the ring does a back flip.

But I don't know the condition for the dolphin to roll over and sink below the window frame.

Why don't you try looking at some movie clips that feature Pai in the aquarium stage? Or look at any movie clip that shows action in that stage. That way, you can pause, rewind, and do whatever else possible to figure it out.

    Just my two cents...

the dolphin actually will quickly swim around the whole aquarium house to always be in the camera shot. it does backflips whenever anyone in the arena does backflips, and it also turns over onto its back and sinks down toward the sand as if dead whenever a character is knocked down to the ground.

I'm glad this was finally cleared up but...the question was posted in 2001. It's now 2003.

    Have a nice day.
