Has anybody been able to complete the advanced training in Evo? What do you get if you do so?
Is it humanly possible to do 4 te's and all of the exercises on a 60hz tv without using a timecontrolling device from planet Zeta-K?

    I don't think so...

I haven't tried them yet but 4 TEs?Would [P]+[G],[6][P]+[G],[3][P]+[G],[2][P]+[G] work ?I'll admit you'd have to be damn quick but if its actually in the game then it must be possible. From the looks of it you'd have to key in [P]+[G] then do a quarter circle whilst pressing [P]+[G] at the three directional points.Would this work anyone? /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Completing all the training sessions ( tuorial, intermediate, advanced ,mission practice) will net you some rare items .Doing all mission practice will give you a glowing bracer whilst all tutorial gave my Akira long wild hair.

I'm not at all sure that will bear itself out. Shroud could do three escapes in VF4 training mode with a pad.

Yes, you can do 4. Try doing E-QTEG, that's even more /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif.

You'd have to seriouly buffer some stuff.
    I think
    [P]+[G]
    [4][P]+[G]
    [6][P]+[G]
    [3][P]+[G]

in that order would be the easiest.

Also: People actually play w/ a pad?

    Yes it's possible.

For this particular Challenge, you have to escape Jeffry's [P]+[G], [6][P]+[G], [2][P]+[G] or [4][P]+[G].

I can do the 4 TEs, but haven't been able to do 3 in the allotted time to pass the challenge. I usually do it with a fast half-circle hitting [P]+[G] on [6], [2], [4] and finally on neutral. When my hand gets tired, I reverse the direction of the half-circle /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

So anyway, it's certainly possible, but not necessarily practical so if you can't do it, don't sweat it. At the very least you should work on getting two TEs + Guard (with or without dodge) and this will get you far in life.

I think that most people who buy any VF game almost always start out on a pad, unless they know they are going to like the game they probably won't immediately purchase a stick for it. I was on a pad for a couple of months, but hey, if you like a pad, use it /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

    I actually find that:

    [P]+[G]
    [6][P]+[G]
    [4][P]+[G]
    [3][P]+[G]

..is easier to do in sequential order, you can go from a front to back then front position, which is easier for me. Pretty much though you need to just persist until you are succesful, turn the advice thing on to under the display.

Yeah Nammy, myself, stompoutloud (and I think Kungfusmurf) are all hardcore pad players... Everytime I think about giving in and buying a joystick someone says something dumb like "Tis never will happen with a pad, that's for sure..." to drive me on...

For the record I have done E-TTEG on a pad... Not consistently, but not like I spend much time in practice mode working on it either...

Even though I have been informed by some others that this is off topic, what pad do you use, I assume the Dual Shock 2 no? /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes it's totally possible (with a pad) : try barely pushing the directions and get a quick rhytm in your head like 1,2,1,2 or 1,2,3,4. If you can do the DLC, you should be able to pull it off. You gotta be a monster to pull it off in an actual match tho.

Actually, this is relevant, as both Nammy and I found PS1 controllers (plain old sony ones) to be much easier to play on than PS2 ones... Hitting diagonals for stuff like crouch dashing, 270 throws and modified moves is much easier on the PS1 controllers...

and yeah I can DLC on a pad and I know others can too, it's not too hard once you get the hang of it...

By plain old PS1 controllers you mean the ones without the analog sticks right?

PS: Does anyone here use those Air Flow controllers? I saw an article about them that said they are good for those "long VF sessions" a while ago, though I wonder how they would be for VF?

But anyways, the PS2 Dual Shock is ok to use, but I can definately understand the use of the PS1 pad over the others, it is very light and doesn't have the analog sticks to obstruct you.

You are off topic. And is there a new DS2.5 or 3 or a new and improved Madkatz ? What's the purpose of your question ? Are you trying to bring back this console wars controller talk bs again ? If you are then please stop.

If he is using a pad to accomplish this mission, then we are not off topic.

Advice on how to pass a trial in VF by using a good pad, or help with manual dexterity is usually appreciated by people, I though this was on topic, maybe I am wrong, dunno?

He didn't mention it in his post but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. For a minute there, I thought you were on your PS2 promo tour again. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif
