It's a good time to be a fan of fighting games.

It's a bad time if your favourite series happens to be VF.

SEGA this is the Nail in Your Coffin. Regardless of how bullshit some other fighters may be. Its sad that they listen and pump out product for the fans except for sega. I mean DOA was'nt the deepest game but the fact it had a optional tag team mode/Online service with a good lobby showed they wanted to cover all bases.Sega kick themselve in the ass when they spoke bad about thier own video going online. Namco is bringing out Tekken games like they going out of bussiness in 3 years but we gotta beg Sega to release a fucking upgrade to arcade game? This is bullshit. I can only envy Diehard Tekken fans because at lease they getting product thrown in thier face to play and enjoy regardless. You release evo for 20 bucks on PS2. Release R to hold us down for a bit and recoup some bread then.

Yeah, I saw this in the morning at 1up.com. I was fine with Sega not making a FS announcement. ( I'm being confidently patient ). Until I saw this. In my mind Im resigned to wait to see VF5 FS come out Feb 2011 or March 2011 . But in the eyes of the media, it may get overlooked with all this attention going to the Tekken series lately. The pressure is really on Sega to make a VF announcement now. Yakuza with Zombies is bullshit .

That jerk Ryan Hart must be doing backflips right now. He was so desperate for a new TTT in his podcasts.

Thanks you. I haven't played Yakuza. Still. Zombie is the new vampire (in a Twilight sort of way).

They're just after a slice of the Monster Hunter pie, I wouldn't take it too seriously. Anyway the game looked fun to me.

Angry dumbfounded sinister facial expression of Jeffry in your avatar is appropriate for every post you make.

    Had to be planned.

    wow they already announced it?
i knew they are making this, but they told me it'll be coming on late of 2011 or early 2012, so im kinda surprised they announced this already...

    hope it'll coming on console.

Just watched the trailer again. Thats a big sidestep by Jin? Easier evades or even a different evasion system maybe?

Namco's version of OM perhaps??? I'm pretty sure Namco's listening even more and gonna tweak characters accordingly... The even bigger announcement would be Kunimitsu as a playable character...

I hope the sidesteps are better because they are so damn shoddy in Tekken 6. I remember when sidestepping was pretty safe and fun to do in Tekken. Seems like somebody whined and complained about good sidesteppers and Namco changed it accordingly. I hope and pray Namco changed the sidesteps back to the original Tekken Tag sidesteps.

Kind of hope they get rid of the bound system introduced in tekken 6, it was a little annoying, at least when ur losing that is, also I hope Unknown comes back. anyone else agree with what I just posted?

I was telling myke the other day, kind of joking, but not really, that they should put Kazuma from Yakuza in VF, and zombies (or like zombie items) in VF. You should be able to dress Eileen up like the monkey from Monkey Ball, you should be able to make Jacky look like Sonic the Hedgehog. they should bring back the VF Kids character models

that zombies thing is smart, as far as I'm concerned. The series is a little tongue in cheek anyway (as are most of the Yakuza movies in Japan that the games are tribute to), I've heard so many people say that the Zombies part of Call of Duty is their favorite. the developers are just adding some color & probably gonna grow their fan base

the austere attitude that games like Yakuza & VF should retain their serious, traditional Japanese flavor

"this is a cup of green tea, and if you don't like straight green tea, too bad"

that's fine and all, but guess what? Its not working, at least not for VF.

VF is DEAD, it's barely alive in Japan. Namco, Capcom, they're having a blast I'm sure, from the level of the CEO's all the way down to the players, they understand the market is having a revival & striking while the iron's hot. Sega did this before, with Fighting Vipers, LAst Bronx, VF Kids, Fighter's Megamix, Sonic the Fighters... there's no more arcade, but that isn't stopping these other companies from making new games

2 years ago, SF was as dead, there hadn't been a new title in years. Now it's booming. Sega could turn it around, but they've gotta stop taking the "lowest risk, medium reward" approach, cause at this point there seems to be no reward. We don't need 100 more items (on top of the what, 400/character now?) for each fighter, or special modes against the CPU. They need people who aren't playing the game to play it. The re-release of Sonic Adventure on XBL got panned because they put no effort at all into making it run nicely on the 360, so they just look like assholes.

I'm sure no one who loves the Yakuza franchise will shy away from the new game, or the PSP release, and they'll probably get a bunch of new people playing with that zombie version. AM2 should take note, the Yakuza team has the right idea

I'm sure there are stalwarts that are poo-pooing the whole SF vs Tekken thing, but who gives a shit? everyone else is gonna have a blast, as are the people who now get to enjoy TTT2. I don't care if they put fucking Ronald McDonald in VF, as long as it sells & gets the game into people's hands, do it!
