One of the sites I write for just found this out there.

Taking bets - will it be better or worse than the KoF flick?

I don't know. Game movies suck so bad there's no quantifying what's better or worse.

I expect SF:the movie quality. If it's even Mortal Kombat-level, it would be a cult hit.

It's old. Saw it a while back. The film is ridiculous without the editing and what you posted, even more so. Hilarious. [IMG]

Gerald practices Capoeira in Los Angeles. I guess Lateef is from there? [IMG]

I thought Lateef was AWESOME in Tom Yun Goong aka the Protector.

That's friggin awesome man. Is he the teacher or one of the students? Like wow, I wonder if he's the student how badass the teacher must be.

    Thanks Trev,

Here is also a video our school did for KTLA channel 5 with our group teacher, Mestre Amen. He's been in a few films himself including only the strong. Lateef is on here as well at around 0:59 playing a freindly game with one of the other students.

Lateef is the only reason I'm even going to attempt to watch this movie. I talked to him a few times on myspace and he seems like a pretty good guy. He told me to go and watch it so I gotta represent my fellow capoeiristas but of course i'm not expecting much out of this movie at all. But it can't be worse than the KOF move because the actors in the Tekken movie actually look like the people in the game save for the actress portraying Christie Monteiro.

p.s. I thought Lateef was with Capoeira San Jose.

Him and my professor, Xingu, both studied under Mestre Marcello in San Jose but for the last few years, Lateef has been down in LA in our group. Not sure how often he trains at CSJ nowadays since he is an actor/stuntman and alot of the work is down here in LA. Lateef also became contra mestre through CSJ last year.

He's Contra Mestre now? That's awesome, I wanna send him congrats but it's far too late LOL. Did he officially switch organizations though or does he still wear his Abada's with the CSJ Logo?
