I was thinking about posting about this game but you beat me to it [IMG]. this game and battlefield 3 are keeping me well entertained.of all the new fps games out now this is the only one (that Ive known) to have a tight learning curve (when it comes to shooting and skiing..)while i play battlefield to have fun, tribes is SERIOUS business.

I wish I still had a decent PC, I was a big fan of tribes vengeance.

How's the skiing compared to original Tribes? Haven't played a Tribes game in years, but it's all about the skiing mechanic.

I was in the beta, seemed fun but there are a lot of unlocks for each class and you can buy XP boosts now. I'm not too happy with that system. It's a really cool game otherwise: fast, projectile weapons instead of hitscan, no boring military theme, great movement system and variety. I'll try to get over the free2pay nonsense (yes pay, not play) and give it another try.

The Skiing is a lot more fun than the previous Tribes, and its a lot more smoother.

Sudden_Death, I am having a hard time keeping up with you. You play battle Field 3 extremely late. Last time I played with you was around 4am then I was tired. By looking at your stats/unlocks. I think you played BF3 around 4am to 6am Eastern Time Zone.

I understand what you mean. I was chasing a Pathfinder that has the flag. He was in the air, then I was in the air. Before I whip out my Shotgun, he whip out his Assault Rifle. Of course he killed me. Then on each flag cap. I could never get close to him as long as he has that Assault Rifle. I finally unlock that weapon though. After going through hell just to get XP. Getting XP is base on time.

Right now is a good time to play because there are a lot of new players we can beat.

lol yeah I get on pretty late. im going to try to play earlier from now on.

by the way! thanks for posting that C3 link, that VOIP program is fuckign awesome!! so simple to use and it just ...works right off the bat, super intuitive. AND it can make free phone calls...AND have someone join a room from their phones..holy shit! right now it goes like this:

    C3 > mumble > teamspeak 3

i even uninstalled mumble+ ts3 after trying c3. good shit!

im having a hard time playing both games (tribes and bf3)...they are both sooo fun [IMG]

ps. i have no problems paying money in tribes, i mean they have to make their money somehow.

I understand it's probably not viable to release T:A as a retail game given its niche appeal. F2P is a good idea in that it will probably lead to the game being a lot more popular than it otherwise would've been. I don't particularly mind DLC per se it's just that ponying up for a temp boost to in-game XP seems a bit on the nickle-and-dime-y side.

Regardless T:A is exceptionally high quality for a F2P game.
