I wouldn't be surprised if the DVD turned out to be a waste like the White Book's DVD, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who's hyped about the frame data. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

    sounds good!

you know, even though the DVD in the white book was pretty early footage of competitive play, once I sat down and watched it, I thought it was pretty good. Especially for those of us who can't/haven't played the game, you can learn a lot through "visual training", just getting used to the hit levels/speeds of many of the new commands, there are also some good combos on there.

There's a lot of new stuff in VF5, command wise, doubly true if you haven't played FT. I think watching the White Book DVD is really helpful while we wait, along w/ net clips.

Are there VF girls phone numbers in it?

The font must be really big to fill an entire book.

I don't know if enterbrain made any official announcement yet, so far I only see it listed on vfbbs, and most likely this news comes from unofficial sources. I'm sure you'll be able to order this from the usual sources once it's close to the release date.

Maybe some people don't know what they mean by moral.

    http://virtuafighter.com/versuscity/show...true#Post123736

    Moraru ƒ‚ƒ‰ƒ‹ÂÂ@- Morals
    Player
Go for exactly what's guaranteed. Go for nitaku in advantaged situations. Take ETEG and other defensive measures in disadvantaged situations, and so on, a style or thinking style exactly as prescribed in the "theory" of the game. It is slang born from the words of "The gorilla", stating it as the ultimate fighting style. At last year's SBO, he created the "Moralists" with himself as "The great Moral legend." He joined with two players of the same style, "Gamecentre arashi" and "Tsuchikumo" and together they won the tournament (his record was 0-1, but anyway...). Also, this year they appeared with the same team, but were destroyed by their polar opposites, "1P team."

Hhmmm, that's interesting stuff you linked back to there.

    aside:
In a way its quite logical they got beaten by the 1P crew though. The AI is extremely 'moral' and you learn to play against such defenses extremely well if you forgo facing human opponents.

Thanks for the note though, I'd have never known.

Yeah I agree, watching the vids on the white book, being early footage, really does provide a glimpse into how the jp players adapt to the new system. Seeing the gradual transition of play style from the white book to the recent footages from Japan gives a preview as to what the NA players will probably go through as well.

I'm ready to play instead of watching now....

Just got the book few hours ago and all i can say that this is an excellent mock book (if you can read japanese that is). but even if you can't there is the frame data which is very useful. the DVD contains a special ARCADIA team tournament. they brought the top japanese players to compete like chibita and fudo. each team only consist of one character (Akira team, Goh team etc...). since the topplayers of every character are there, you'll see a lot of educational /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif techniques and strategies.
I'm very happy with book and the DVD. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif
