Want to see VF vs Tekken happen?

Email IGN. The director of Tekken said"He and the director of VF always wanted to do a crossover" But, like he said in the IGN interview, it comes down to the FANS. So, IGN wants you to EMAIL them, so they could forward it to SEGA and NAMCO, to make this happen...So guys, lets do this and make this "B-rated fighting fans" also know as Tekken players(LOL) How skill players actually play.

VF vs Tekken. The Email link is at the bottom of the interview. Make the header"VF vs Tekken".

BTW, I know we have a "TEKKEN VS VF" Thread, but nobody has mention this little bit of cool info.

Wouldn't work. The two systems are just so vastly different that both games would have to make some serious compromises to their respective fighting engines for it to even be remotely possible, but doing so will piss off a lot of fans.

Although, I wouldn't mind seeing Brad kick Steve 5.0's ass. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

It will be great to have a crossover, but as Poppa said there are serious gameplay differences between the two fighters and a lot of compromises must be made to make it even remotely feasible ...

  4. Hell yeah I'd love to see that! Kick Mishima Devil ass using Pai Chan = Priceless (and maybe Hwoarang can give Lion some spanking and get his VF2 voice and personality back -_-").

True, there's gonna be a lot of work for them to do, which the director expressed in the interview, but they ARE willing to give it a go if the fans really want it. Not everybody's gonna enjoy it, but you never know what they can pull off. Both games are two of the best in the genre, so perhaps the teams will give us something we never expected.

Hmmm... this sounds like it'd compromise quite a bit.

Will there be low parry? (please no)
Chickening out of reversal? (PLEASE NO)
    Stance free combos? (no!)
Heavy weights are bigger targets? (no!)
Will the movement be changed from 44,33,11,66? (I hate ice skating)
Will a throw game disappear? (hmmm)
    Will health be lowered?
    Will they remove ringouts?
How many cast members will there be in the game? (equal for both, get rid of Pai/Lau and have 15 from Tekken)
How many buttons? And will block be a direction? (FUCK NO)
Will it be console release first like other Namco games? (NO NO NO)
Will it have VF or Tekken tiers?

I don't see how this is possible. I'd rather see effort go into making Tekken 6 the best in the series (balanced, maybe an Evo-like tutorial) and for VF5:Evo have all the extras people complain about. (oh and nerf Shun to Jeffry status)

The only way I see this "Crosssover"to work, if they work on a new engine, then just taking apart the engine from their respected engines. Just think of something fresh. That both fans may find(or not) appealing.

A new engine would need to be made with many changes and adjustments from both sides to create a solid hybrid engine.

It's definitely possible for it to turn out great.

These people have been working on this type of game for years, and should have a good understanding of how to make something "work".

Take the bad from each game and tone it down.

Take the good and expand on it.

See what people rave about in both games and build on it.

    I'd keep an open mind.

It worked for SvC and CvS to an extent. The former plays like a SNK game the latter like a Capcom game. That'd probably be a logical way to go, have AM2 recreate their game to include Tekken chars and Namco recreate theirs to include VF chars.

Creating a full development team from members of AM2 and Namco's crews and having them come up with an entirely new engine? There's a design debate that would take some ages to get worked out (and I'd love a seat at the table).

I wonder how big the doublepalm's impact explosion will be...

meh.... both games are waaay deferent than each other. better luck seeing VF vs DOA than VF vs T. at least VF & DOA got a lot in common. and honestly i'd rather see VF vs DOA than VF vs T. and at least let AM2 handle the graphics. don't wanna see no doll look a like AKIRA.

Well they could easily make a NEW engine, and since it's a NEW game you'll just have to play it as such.

I totally agree. It wouldn't be a case of "no! you're gon' mess up my tekken!" or "oh no, you're going to mess up my vf!".

It would either be a totally new game or a hybrid of both vf and tekken (which would play like a new game).

It would be nice if people wouldn't be so negative about change for once. I mean, it's not like they're going to RUIN any one of the games themselves. It's like as if they question presented was:
"Would you like to see a game where characters from both the VF world and Tekken world fought each other?"

and people are like "NOOOOO!, you're going to ruin my Tekken/VF."

Jesus. Relax, it's going to be alright.
I would LOVE to see a NEW fighter emerge. Something fresh but with a familiar feel or look. And I am going to definitely write in and let them know.

Fuck no! That'd equal Humans vs. Robots, Cyborgs, Kangaroos, Devils, Half-Devils, Environmentalists, Bears, Mexican Jaguar people, and Black Dancers/Criminals/Ninjas!

    Thats unfair X10^(12)
    ----

The main issue I have: A new hypothetical system would compromise what I like about VF the same as it would for someone and their love of Tekken. Now if this was developed my AM2 I'd give it a try... Namco, maybe after the 12th patch (even then there'll be tons of cheese).

Instead of dreaming of this Tekken V. VF game, I'd rather have Sega/AM2 get the rights to Bushido Blade and make part 3! That I'd play the shit out of (realistic FG with weapons? SIGN ME UP).

If you're a Tekken fan, heck, if you're a fighting game enthusiast, please show your support.
It would be great publicity for VF.
It's obvious that this "hybrid" has great potential to draw in many casual gamers and hook some more people on to VF!

Dont worry about HOW they're going to make it work. That's not our job to take care of.
Both Namco and Sega have been making games for long enough now, have faith in at least one of these developers.
It is not impossible for them to pull off an interesting and fun game with these two well-established franchises.
Q: How difficult is it going to be?
A: Who cares? That's their job to worry about.

"VF vs. Tekken/ Tekken vs. VF"
We all know that a lot fun and exciting games have been created with way less interesting concepts than this.

Again, if you're a Tekken fan, heck, if you're a fighting game enthusiast, please show your support.
It would be great publicity for VF.

It's sad that VF (better game in my opinion) needs publicity by connecting it with Tekken.

ps.no matter how they do it,I want to see that crossover
