    Did you all move there?
Last time I was in London (well already a year and a half ago) most people were at the Casino...

Casino is an absolute joke - the cabinets and sticks are in such a sorry state they are near unplayable. The machines are never maintained to any kind of standard nor do they bother to get any decent stuff anyway (when they do - they put it in a shit cab, wonder why it's making no money then get rid of it)

In fact the whole of Troc is the same too - the only reason they (eventually) maintain the VS City cabs is because people bitch at them so much to do so. Manz mum would do a better job as an engineer then those retards.

I asked the engineer and the Dark One about changing the sticks and they said it could be done if enough people wanted it. So will people speak up next time there's a gathering? Remember the Tekken players got their sticks changed, they wanted tighter sticks for their machine and after some persistence they got em. Should I bother to make a thread listing those who want them changed and maybe the Dark One could look at it? B and F dashing is too difficult and I saw enough people jumping by accident at and before the Bare Licks tourney.

After the new year I'll be planning a few weekend trips to London for various music events. Hopefully there's still an active VF scene in London then, so I can drop in to the Troc for a few games.

Haven't played competative VF in ages.

This is what I dont understand about these people - why do they need people to TELL them what they should have done/been doing ages ago?

How much would 10 sets of Sanwa buttons and sticks cost them? Not that much, and they should have been provided when people still went to the arcade in decent numbers - it's always dead now and tbh I dont feel any need to visit the place again.

It's shame to miss out on those tourneys though as that's what gives you the incentive to work at a game as tough as VF. There's nowhere else to hold em at the moment but if Troc makes the scene bigger and makes money it should influence other arcades to cater for competition. Having said that Casino seems to make plenty but does nothing to upgrade. What you really need is an arcade run by a player and untill that happens there's always gonna be a gap in understanding.

Maximum: check the tournaments section for troc meetings and tourneys.

heah exactly, steve got sanwa sticks and buttons for his cabinet in game focus, and it didnt cost, that machine has the best sticks and buttons in london!
troc peeps should realise they can keep re using old knackered sticks which are totally rusty, and some of the buttons are old, and some are new,WHATS UP WITH THAT?

BTW shoju, us tekken players didnt get the sticks changed on the Tag machine, only the settings.

one last thing, casino sticks > fake trocadero sticks.
casino > troc. no loud music, no flashing lights, it isnt dark, theres more space and there arent security guys trying to get past you every 5 mins, AND there are none of those little fruit machine kids.

What like walk in there with UZI's and demmand new sticks, the bre's would probly still just say, 'go on then shoot me, I don't give a fuck!' /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Seriously though if Steve can buy good sanwa sticks for a tenner surely Troc can,
if nothing else it gives a bad name for London when the only places to play VF4evo all have problems of one sort or another.

I thought Chef got them to change the sticks. They do feel tighter now than they did at the beginning.

If enough people let them know about the sticks they might do something about it. At the moment it seems to be only me.

is the scene really that bad, i only come on a friday evening and sometimes saturdy evening and usualy same old lot are down there. Maybe sega europe need to promote there games better in UK

Sega Europe couldnt promote comdoms in a whorehouse

I used to work for that stupid company - they dont employ people with any clue about the product. When was the last time (bar Namco in Wonderpark) an arcade or operator actively promoting new product?
I havent seen any - all tournaments and scenes have been made possible by the players with minimal support. The DDR/Pump It Up scene only became what it did in London because of the players, the websites and the events they arranged - the arcades did virtually nothing and Konami Europe only help to alienate players from their series by butchering all releases.

Remember that Gamesmaster event when the VF player came down from Japan to challenge manz here? He was at Seagworld 1st - they did such a good job at promoting his visit that nobody turned up! XD
They had to get a couple staff members to challenge him - fucking retards.

The players dont matter to these people - they gear their whole operatons to appeal to people that dont spend much money at their centres anyway.
