Okay. Today, or I guess yesterday depending on where you live, I got PHYSICAL COPIES of Virtua Fighter 2 and Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown ver. 2.0 from Limited Run Games!!! I know lot’s of people love to hate on Limited Run, but I gotta say, I have never had a single problem with them and I love how I get stuff that I have always wanted from them for cheap, as long as I order within their short pre-order window, and as long as I’m willing to wait a few months. Because of this, I am sitting pretty with physical copies of two of my favorite fighters of all time! Better yet, these came the day before my Birthday (4/20), which as luck would have it, has fallen on Easter Sunday and my day off.

    I am absolutely THRILLED!

Physical copies are vital to the preservation of video games. Having Virtua Fighter 2 on Xbox 360/Xbox One and Virtua Fighter 5 on PS4/PS5 sitting on my shelf with the rest of my game collection is just a dream come true.

Okay, so this isn’t my first time owning these two particular games, physically. I have Virtua Fighter 5 Online for my 360, and I have Virtua Fighter 2 imported for PS2, along with Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution. But having these in their newest versions (VF5 lets me select between version 2.0 & 2.1), and they are both playable on current consoles. These two games will always be with me and I can enjoy them for years, nay… decades to come.

It is so important to keep our gaming hobby alive. Owning physical copies is the best way to do that. No matter what Microsoft or Sony chooses to do in the future with their networks, I will always be able to play.

So, am I alone in my love for physical ownership love? Are there others out there who agree with me? Did anyone else jump at the chance to get these two games added to their collection? Do you love Virtua Fighter enough to own it forever and ever? Do any of you love it even more than me by having these, and other wonderful games from our favorite series on SEGA Saturn, PS2, PC (as if that really counts), or HELL… even SEGA Genesis and 32X? Or are you someone who could care less about physical vs. digital; as long as you get to play the game?

Let us know. Support your stance. Tell us all. We want to know. And please, be kind.

I was going to buy a physical copy of VF5:us but it was $60 for a game with not much content. If it was cheaper or had more to offer, I would of bought it.

I have VF1 Remix, 2 and genesis, and 4 EVO. I would like to buy REVO but we need more content like quest mode, customizations, etc. I can't decide on getting on Xbox or PS5.
