That question is bugging me. Why? Cause all of previous presidents of the United States have been male. How come? Has the nation of America ever thought about it. The US have had many "first ladies".. how about the "first gentleman"?? I think I remember Hilary Clinton having a shot at it or something. What are your views?

Hilary Clinton is the jr. senator for New York now. She's on the right career path to run for president, but it's not likely she would be elected IMO...

Would it be possible if the female population votes them in?

As voting in US is not compulsory(i think?)... maybe some organised rallying of votes could make it possible.

What % of eligible population actually vote?

Here is Australia the voting for the State parliament is a bit of joke... in the last one the Ballot form was an A2 sheet with hundreds of candidates. Most of them were marketing groups like Woolworths(think Walmart), Colgate(toothpaste), etc etc
    Our voting here is compulsory..

Not long ago there was a mass email on registering JEDI or something like that as your religion during the Australian census. 50 000 members of that religion made it an official though I'm not sure what happened with that.

But in line with the post.. I really don't think so..
Though Margaret Thatcher somehow became PM of UK.. anyone want to give any details on how she managed that?

No idea, but at least we had a female in proper power. And that's quite a few years back. All we need now is a prime minister of black origin.

I believe, within the next 50 years we will have our first Jewish president, first female president ,and first black president.

I might be mistaken, but I think I recall consideration of Elizabeth Dole to run for the office of President.

It didn't happen, but I think I recall it being a serious consideration.

but who will come first? Black or Jewish?
    My guess is jewish.
Then black, then a woman. Probably the woman president won't happen until I'm dead.
