Lots of VF activity at Day 1 of EVO Japan 2025. SEGA's booth, Tetsuko's VF Party with a 3on3 Random Team Battle, and Isamu Yamagishi of VFR/Beat-Tribe fame received the Cannon Award.

We've had a few good months since VF5 Revo's release where we've seen a number of updates, some big events with lots of hype, and we're just around the corner from some more excitement and invigoration for all! Unfortunately, the VF5 REVO Combos section has yet to benefit proper from all this new interest and momentum to the point where some characters still don't have any combos entered. SEGA just announced the grand prize for winning the Virtua Fighter Open Championship (VFOC) is $100,000! Qualifiers will be held in North America, Europe, Asia (all Asian regions except Japan), and Japan. The first qualifier to start the VFOC will be at Combo Breaker.

In the first producer letter for VF5 R.E.V.O., Aoki celebrates the one month anniversary of the game's release. The two main topics from the letter:1) Updates to the game are ongoing, please continue to provide feedback through their official Discord. 2) Details for the global Virtua Fighter Open Championship (VFOC) will be revealed soon.

Akira Zero, a longtime member of the VFDC community, has sadly passed away. Our condolences to his family and to all with whom Akira Zero has been a part of their life.

To help usher a new era of VF and also to promote fans to use the Official Virtua Fighter Discord channel, SEGA has asked several members of the community to help out.

On Friday, the Official VF Discord have summarized the Open β English and Japanese feedback from December 2024 into 3 charts: overall satisfaction of Open β, ranked matches, and room matches.
