I may try to run to this, actually. I am in a major BJJ tournament in v.a near dulles.

Is everyone bringing thier own Sticks to the tourney? Ive never been to one so I wouldnt know. And if I show, what Bums are gonna bee there? I hope no DM'ers are in it.

 

You bring your own controller/stick.

DM P+K spammers weren't around in tournaments before mainly because the tournaments mainly comprised of VFDCers. It'll be interesting to see whether the influx of players due to VF5 Online correlate to tournaments. So with greater attendance, there's a chance of spammers.

I wouldn't worry about it since this is offline, noob tactics won't be as effective.

"DM'er" referring to someone who is constantly using Defensive Move?? If so when did using evasive maneuvers become a spamming strategy?

 

He means DM P+K, it's a prevalent strategy among beginners online.

Beats my commute there. It takes me an hour and half to get to Chinatown, then the Bus to DC is close to 5 hours.

Auvii, more than like Im going up there Saturday just for the day. Thats what a freind and I are planning to do unless something goes ary. We live in Richmond wich is 2 hours from you and could be an hour and a half from Ashburn.

We thought we would step up and run it on our own, Flash brought a setup with TV and X360 and we loaded into cars. We called the organizers and said we were coming. They told us we would have to wait for the Smash Tournanment to finish if we were to run it ourselves. We figured mid-drive we might as well go back to play at Flash's house.

Oioron, Denkai and I are now back at Flash's place with the rest of the VA crew having fun.

 

Man, sorry I missed you all yesterday. I got caught in a nasty heel hook and my right ankle is jacked up. I've been hobbling around my g/f place since that is where I got deposited. I am pretty lucky my knee was not broken. I had a very intense grappling match against an ex vf'r no less. Anyways, if you all are around and want to stop by, feel free!

 

it was utterly disappointing to hear that VF was not even on the agenda of the C3 tournament when the first post of this thread clearly states that it was. furthermore, tornadoflame bailing out without notice really topped the cake. it wasn't the fact that he couldn't go due to complications that got me upset, IT WAS THE FACT THAT HE DIDN'T BOTHER TO TAKE THE GOD DAMN TIME TO LET ANYONE KNOW THAT HE WASN'T GOING TO RUN THE TOURNEY WHEN HE CLEARLY KNEW IN ADVANCE!!! >=O

it's just common courtesy to let niggas kno in advance whether a tournament is to take place or not. US VA PEEPS don't care that it was cancelled because we don't hafta drive far to get to C3. i felt bad for shag, denkai, and oioron for even bothering to make the trip down from NYC. in addition, the past two weeks of this thread clearly shows interests from the likes of kingofcarnage and auvii, both of which are out-of-towners as well.

to make up for the disappointment, NYC and VA crew just gathered at my house and played VF and BRAWL!!! YEAH! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif then i decided to take NYC crew and chefboy to a club in DC where we ALL got tipsy, designated driver included (ME!)! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif as usual, mr moderator himself, Shag, was gettin his groove on with a few bitches! and he even managed to get a chick's number........which he failed to save on his cell! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif it was mad fun...and i hope it made up for the unecessary trip to DC.

the next time a tournament is announced, please be sure to follow through with it and not just abandon it just because the god damn thread wasn't "poppin."

Hi, I'm the organizer for the C3 tournaments at ashburn. First off just to clarify, I told Flash that there was literally no space at the time. I post up the c3 threads at shoryuken.com, dustloop.com, and i tell jaguar to post them up at zaibatsu. We had a set schedule of six games starting at 4 pm, the only way to run VF that day was after the Smash kids left; Brawl just came out and the place was packed.

#2, THERE WAS NO VF TOURNAMENT SCHEDULED. This isn't an affront to any of you at all; I'm mad Tornadoflame posted this without telling me or Havoc, but then he actually added two games here(VF, AH) that weren't even on the official list. I've known eddel for a long time now, I would definitely let him know if we were going to do this or not.

I tried to make this work out for you guys when I heard about it. I knew a few MD players coming out for 3S that also played VF and convinced them to enter it as well, but I couldn't really do much else on short notice. I'll post up threads here from now on to avoid any more of these issues.
