I've not played that much of them myself as my PS2 has a hard time of reading them for some reason (needs a good cleaning) but the discs are fine so they'll work fine on someone else's PS2 (not Will's as his is a Jap one).

I'll try and unlock as much stuff as possible in them for next week.

Yeah, I am experiencing similar problems with my PS2, it doesn't seem to like to read the discs unless I put the stupid machine on a strange angle. Oddly enough, once it has loaded the first screen of the game, (I think most games just say 'PS2' in white writing), it plays the games flawlessly.
As for bring games and stuff, I couldn't care less what people bring, I am only interested in playing VF, so I will be leaving one (maybe 2) set-ups on VF, and you guys can sort out the rest of the stuff yourself!
Chris, you're going to embarrass me if you bring 'Tesco's finest', I am but a mere mortal, and as such, am forced to shop at less worth places, like Kwik-Save, or Netto!

P.s. wouldn't it be funny if Ade got fired for visiting a VF website, and not for all the 'XXX PORN' sites that are in his history?!?!

Ok, this means that we will get to my house for around 4pm, which will give us a few hours to have a mini tournament and a decent amount of casuals, depending on how long the guys from manchester can stay for.

Chris, Ade, Will, how long can you guys stay for on the Saturday night? I can take you all beack to the train station whenever you want to leave, as buses run till about midnight!

 

Hmmm well me and Will are staying as long as Will can...I've a feeling he'll be driving to mine on the sat morn and then up to yours so we could be getting to yours for around 12 ish (or something). I think I'll need to be back home by the sat night tho so I'll check with Will to see if we can stay till around 7/8 or something on the sat and then drive back to mine.

Oh and I shop at Kwik Save too btw, there's loads of em here in Manchester, I just splash out at the Tesco as it's around the corner from mine and because I like to infuriate my bank manager by abusing my overdrafts. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'll get in touch with Will and Dan and check what's going on.

Forgot to say I have the system file all set up too...so almost everyone's got a champion ranked char dressed up the way they want and I've added LiMeng and Stroppa too.

Will is busy with work and simply can't get the day off. I can't afford to travel myself (as Will was going to be bringing me) so unfourtunately you'll be losing the 2 set ups we said we could bring.

Ade's mate is having a 21st bash on the friday night and his stick is fucked so he won't be able to make it either.

Hi guys, Im sorry to say that i will not be able to make it this time round. My fucking student loan still hasn't come through and I spent the last of my 'earned' money coming down to Manchester last time. Keep me posted on when the next one is and we will sort something out. In the mean time, anyone is welcome to come to Cheltenham to play me.

 

Dan, I don't really think that anyone is going to travel just to play one person, unless that one person is really good. If you want to play other people, you really need to start travelling more, thats why I think it would be really good for you if you come up to this meeting, everyone who is now coming are around the same skill level, (you included), so you would get some serious experience by coming. Still, if you don't have the money, I guess you can't do anything about it. I'll let you know when the next meeting is, though I don't think it will be for a while unless Chris is able to organise something.

I was suggesting maybe a few people coming up for a mini tourny here. Whatever, just forget that then. The reason I cant come down is because I have been travelling to play people.It just went completely tits up when I tried to come down last time and ended up only playing one person for an hour.It cost me £50 and that was the last money I had.If it looks like it will be fun then next time I will come down.

On the money front, here's why I can't come...

Student account: -£998.23 (overdraft limit £1250)

Current account £11.62 (overdraft is £500 but I get charged for using it)

I have to pay £238 rent in a few days time, then again on 1st Dec, THEN leave a cheque for £238 for the 1st of Jan as I'll not be around then but they still expect the money.

So essentially I have 3 lots of £238 to pay in the near future, then I have to worry about actually feeding myself with food too.

It's totally gay I know but I wouldn't be able to make it I'm afraid (money would be needed for food too on the weekend).

I'm currently also snowed under with Uni work too...but I'm looking into possible new venues in which to organise things.

I'll post if anything comes up.

 

I do really wanna come to this meet and am trying to do something about it although everything seems to be in my way, not only money. If I did manage to sort something out what would be the deal i.e. how many people coming, what kinda tournament r we doing and when can I/other people stay till? Cheers

I'm not too sure whether you're having a go at me here or what but rest assured, the last cd I bought was sometime last May, last time I went to the cinema was to see Matrix Revolutions, don't buy games anymore, trade in all my old ones (albeit besides the new GTA) and the last time I went out drinking was a month and a week ago or so. If you do the sums, you'll realise I have next to nothing left after paying all my rent and I still have 6 weeks of the semester to go. Coupled with the fact I'm doing my Masters in 5 dimensional QED and as such am essentialy working 9-5 on it, 7 days a week, travelling to play a video game with some mates is unfourtunately a low priority on my agenda.

 

Not really having a go. although it does surprise me that the self-declared instigator and organiser of all things "NorthUK" VF-wise, has never once travelled to play VF.
