I remmeber reading somewhere that Minami Akira has quit VF and is now playing Tekken instead. Kyasao actually said that he will not be playing any more tourneys too.

I am really having some problems with these vids. I download them and when I try to play them all get is a blank screen. I can hear the vid, but I can't see it. Any suggestions. I even downloaded Streamdown, but nothing happened.

 

Actually, Minami still plays akira in FT. Although he has become sort of an icon status much like all the winners of past tournaments. According to the new Daioh tournament, he was on the team of Haijin, Ohsu, Nuki, and Homestay Akira. (What a team!) They lost however, in their second match, against Team World Selection. Which can be seen in action in the new Daioh clip fighting against Sugoroku's Team.

Minami Akira has been my mentor, so imagining him quitting VF really saddnes me. I guess If there are people that feel sad about you quitting, you must have been either a hell of player, a memorable person or both.

There are two suggestions that come to mind:
You don't have the right video codecs to play the movie or you didn't download the movie correctly. If you have the latest version of Windows Media Player (I think it's still 9) then it shouldn't be a problem. You can download the WMP codecs here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/format/codecdownload.aspx if you want to be sure. The other possibility is that you didn't download the streaming video correctly. I'm not familiar with streamdown but most streaming programs have an option of which type of stream you want - you should select the 'MMS' type and no other (there might be some other options like PNM - make sure you don't select them as well). Good luck.
