that's the one I'm talking about, Bujinkan-ninjitsu. I could never for the life of me get the name straight. I always thought it was the last art form with a true ninja-decendent teaching it, which other ones are still around? I'd love to try and find a school near where I live now because i really miss it.

I did tae kwon do for 4 years then did shotokan karate and koga ryu ninjitsu for 2. I was in sambo for about 3 months then had to stop cause my teacher got rear ended by a truck. Out of all of them i enjoyed sambo the most but i think it was because i got to do a lot more sparring in sambo. Everyday was spar day so i could see myself getting better everytime i went.

There are nine schools of Nin-Jutsu within the Bujinkan:

    Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu
    Gyokko Ryu Kosshijutsu
    Koto Ryu Koppojutsu
    Kukishinden Ryu Happo Hikenjutsu
    Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu
    Shindenfudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu
    Gikan Ryu Koppojutsu
    Kumogakure Ryu Ninjutsu
    Gyokushin Ryu Ninjutsu

Each one holds its own techniques or 'theme' if you will. Jumonji no Kamae is a posture from the Gyokku Ryu school.

Jumonji no Kamae is one of a number of Kamae (postures) which are central throughout the nine schools, the other main kamae are:

    Shizen no Kamae.
    Ichimonji no Kamae.
    Doko Ichimonji no Kamae.
    Hicho no Kamae.
    Kosei no Kamae.
    Jumonji no Kamae.
    Ihen no Kamae.
    Hira no Kamae.
    Shoshin no Kamae.
    Hoko no Kamae.
    Nage no Kamae.
    Seiza no Kamae.
    Fudoza no Kamae.
    Gassho no Kamae.

Have you tried searching for a Bujinkan school in your area?

If your into Kung Fu, look for me at the Adults National Kung Fu tournament in Chicago. I'll be the the guy...doing kung fu? No, but anybody else going? I'm registered under Northern Mantis, looking forward to fighting some others, especially some shaolin.

I had forgotten the actual name of the art form so I couldn't really search with the broad term I had but I'll look into it now. I only remember two of the stances from that form, thought it was cool when I saw jumanji stance in the game for the first time since I knew about it.

I did koga ryu at this place called "robinsons academy of martial arts". It was pretty fun but i had to stop due to school (high school at the time). Its in philly. Im about to get into a mma school in the next month or so. My teacher was prof. robinson but i can't remember his first name. If you look the school up on google you can see it. Also i remember this old black guy from new york came to our school a few times. he was suppose to a grand master of koga ryu ninjistsu but i never got to train with him during the seminars they held at the school.

Yeah i was really surprised too. I stopped going about 6 months ago. I would still be over there training if I had a bit more time on my hands. He charges 150$ a month which is worth it by all means, but I cant justify that if I am not devoting myself to it. Regardless being instructed by someone of that level is an awesome feeling. before I found that place I was just rolling with people at the purple belt level. he is also very traditional and sticks to the real belt system, nearly 4 years to reach bluebelt is a must. Compared to others places around here that give it out in a little over a year.

I stopped by Edna Limas school a long time ago when I was
thinking about moving to NyC a while back. I'm with Vai Capoeira
da Brazilian Pelourinho Topazio. Basically I'm an off shoot of
Topazio. I have my own school, but Brazilian Pelourinho and
    Topazio is the lineage jobby.

The black man you speak of is Grandmaster Dunken. My original teacher was a student of his and actuallly continues to be a student o him sensai Orpheous. So bacially I was lucky enough to not to be too far removed from the grandmaster, sadly I was still young so I never go to go to a seminar. When I finally move back to nyc I'm gonna start up again and train under Dunken finally, it'll be awesome. He's a ruff sensai I hear.
