Don't mean to be rude but no f%$£ing way man I'm a Liverpool supporter ( click on my name to see I'm actually from Liverpool , about half an hours drive from Manchester ) but yes he do appreciate our football around these parts.Which teams have you taken through the Masters League? My mate went the usual boring way of Barcelona/AC/Real...
I really don't know what happened to Liverpool the other day though they were real unlucky.

I must say I am rather impressed with the Arsenal of the last two seasons or so but are they trying to recreate the French national side or what?

Aston Villa is the best team! /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Anyway, I have some goals on my memory card.
I'll see if I can upload them soon. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Err....Aston Villa ...you must be joking right?Where you from , the midlands?Any way all teams are rubbish when you start playing in the masters league ( especially when in extreme ) and making them into good teams depends on who you buy or who you've unlocked in the first place ( Like Maradonna, George Best,Guilit,Pele..).Look forward to the goals though. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Don't offend my dear Aston Villa, my favourite football team. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif
When I said that Aston Villa is the best, I meant that they are my favourite football team in real life, and not in the actual game, just clearing that up. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It’s been a little while since I played Master League, because VF is unfortunately taking up to much time.
But I played some friends of mine this weekend, and scored a couple of nice goals.
I’ll let you know when they are online. /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Btw, people rank you’re favourite player in the game.
My must be either Ryan Giggs or Alvaro Recoba, the excitement always goes to the roof when Giggs starts to dribble on the left wing.
It's a shame that he plays for Man U. /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif
And Recoba really knows how to score on those 30 yard free kicks. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    *hehe*

Recoba is indeed god like as is ' gigsi' as he's called in the game when they start dribbling with the ball.My favourite players would have to be Owen ( for obvious reasons ) and a player called Dunant who was a grass roots player who I trained up to be amazing. He's as fast as Owen but has better ball control. So if Aston Villa are your favourite real life team where do you live?Birmingham?I know what you mean about time management between vf and pro evo2 .Finding the time to play both in equal measure is impossible. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

aim for the near post corner. Aim the ball so it travels just between the space between two of the heads of the players forming the wall. Make the shot curve a little. Practice this in the practice mode. You will make free kicks something to worry about for your opponent.

For a start if your going to practice free kicks practice them with the same player always.Every single player hits the ball differently and to know how to score a free kick is to know how your player will hit it.Power above the half way bar and your shot'll be almost always over.Angle your player so that they will hit the ball between defenders heads as it says in the post above as this means even if the wall jumps it'll clear it.You can add curl as the power bar fills up by holding down [4] or [6] or[1] or [3].Wow I never though these commands would be useful other than vf stuff ...anyway...holding [8] or [2] will alter the height of the ball being kicked. Some players like Beckham for instance really don't need curl added as he adds loads of his own in the way he kicks it.Some good free kick specialists are:
    Beckham
Del Piero ( I scored my first with him)
    Roberto Larcos ( as he's called )
    Toti
    Recoba
    Zidane
but these are but a few.Sit down in training mode with these guys or have a go at the umbros training mode.If you complete the free kick challenge you unlock Stoichkov a Bulgarian wizard with set pieces. If you're still stuck just keep posting and say what you're stuck on exactly.

For those who bought the US version of WE6, if you like the game, I HIGHLY encourage you to get the import WE6 Final Evolution. You can get patches on the internet to make the game in complete english with updated rosters. Just a minor voluntary advertisement for Konami.

Buy the way csnape the commands [1] and [3] dont do anything to alter the ball. Only [4] and [6] and curl to the ball. If u are shooting from say 30 yrds then it's best to hold(only slightly) [8] which will add speed to the ball and if your are close and dont need a lot of power hold [2] this wont give u a harsh shot but will do enough to get it over the wall. Also holding x will make the ball dip alot (good for close freekicks) and holding
/\ will not dip it as much but will do it slighlty and keep most of the speed.

I must admit I never use [1] or [3] but I assumed they'd add to the curl of the ball ( I hadn't checked it out properly /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif ) as in most cases I don't even add that much curl to the ball.
Other tricks from free kicks that can be used are holding down and pressing circle ( long pass ) to drill the ball along the ground and hopefully underneath the jumping feet of the wall and holding r1 or r2 will also affect the flight of the ball.
If in doubt you basically looking to curl the ball into either corner of the goal ( high or low ) though it's sometimes possible to hit it to the middle of the goal and the keeper won't save it depending on who he is.

No I’m from Norway, and English football is really big here.
And I’ve been a Villa fan for the 9th year this year.

Anyway, I have uploaded some goals.
All the goals have been scored in versus mode (and one in extreme mode in Master League); all the goals have been scored by me and Netrom, and the last one by Duke.
I will upload more goals as they come. /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I just made a quick video edit into the movie, man I love this game. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wow /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I didn't realise English football was so big outside of England. No offense was meant by my comments but usuallly when people from outside the UK support a team they tend to go for the big clubs like Man U,Arsenal,Liverpool...if they watch English football.I've grown up supporting Liverpool all my life though their form of recent weeks has left me asking myself why.I honestly think vf and pro evo 2 are far and away the best two player games available on ps2 at the moment ...maybe even across all platforms and consoles.
Nice goals , look forward to seeing more soon. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I’m glad you liked them; I’ve started playing WE once a day now.
I can’t let this great game be un-played, and yesterday I’ve scored a couple of new great goals.
I had the goalkeeper to shoot out the ball, and it went all over the pitch and all the way to the other goalkeeper, it was raining so he slipped, and one of my strikers could just head the ball passed the goalie.
I laughed my ass off, too good. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah most people down here cheer for Liverpool\Man U, that’s why those are the teams that I hate the most.
But who said that rivalry was a bad thing right? /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Playing every day sounds good to me but I'm going through that phase of vf at the moment ( I just HAVE to play at least 1 hour a day or I get sloppy ) but when I'm at uni me and my mates regularly play all night till the early morning.
I scored a well funny goal the other day as well.Totti in my Liverpool master league team picked up th ball and hit it from about 25 yards out with about half power bar and no dip what so ever.Barthez was the keeper and he comically just watched it float over his head into the centre of the goal directly behind him.Weird.
Another goal I scored would have to be funniest oggy ever. The computer plays a huge ball over the top of my defense. There's one striker chasing it and one defender who's closer to the ball than the striker and also chasing. It's about 25 yards out so I start to bring my keeper out to hack it clear. All of a sudden I realise he's not going to make it so my defender passes the ball back to him.My keeper is still in the running animation and sees the ball late so dives down after the ball's gone through his legs and bundles into the attacker and defender as they collide leaving the ball to roll painfully into an unguarded net.Classic! /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif
It's good that you support Villa though as it makes a nice change from all those ' glory hunter ' fans from overseas. /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif
