Check out this great article on Arcade Stick Input Lag Testing on the XBOX 360 and PS3. The first page is an overview of what "input lag" means, along with the a detailed description of the testing procedure used. The second page summarises the results of all the sticks tested, ranked accordingly into tiers, and the final page contains the raw test data. Interestingly, you'll see cases of the same stick model exhibit more lag on the PS3 than it does on the XBOX 360! Where does your stick rank? Thanks to @Unicorn for the tip!

The PS3 situation listed there is really playing on my mind. I hadn't entirely given up the prospect of still playing Virtua Fighter on that console. Seems all the sticks have lag though, what a nightmare. I wonder why the VSHG isn't listed? Maybe too old or too niche. Haven't used mine for a while now, but it always felt a bit crisper than the larger Hori model.

Incredible this data appears right at the end of last-gen

Well I question the credibility of these tests somewhat. I use Hori Edge on PS3 and it supposedly has a near 1 frame delay, really, really close to it. But offline in dojo or matches, I can easily land a 16f at +16. My execution in FS is pretty decent (it's not as good in Ultra, but I can do some 1F links and punish fine), but there is tons of time for the attack to land in FS. I don't need to be super fast and the 16f attack lands every time at +16, or -16 for the opponent. If it really had that 1f delay I could not land these kind of punishes and certainly wouldn't be 1f linking in Ultra with it (can land some without plinking!). Furthermore you only got to see a few of the Stier rated sticks at 2,000+ offline EVO Ultra tourney, none of which made finals or top 16 even, and that tourny is amazing!!

Also none of this stuff is relevant to you Pai, as you are an online only player and online has more lag than any of these sticks do.

Says the PSN only Westcoast player who nobody saw at two Westcoast Sega Cups, lol
Keep evading at -15 buddy - may as well use a pad

Sega cup is 1,000 miles away from me in the north end of Washington and i'm not a big enough fan of FS to travel 1,000 miles to play it. Glascow Scotland to London is only 346 miles apart, and you live within England where SEGA Cup Europe was held & didn't even bother to attend, so that is beyond hypocritical.. I would be more than willing to do an offline money match for $500 to $1,000 with you any time Pai. But this is very off topic stuff... I am interested in hearing of anyone having offline input issues with sticks from this list in regards to FS. Ultra has 2f delay on PS3 (1f delay in arcades and on PC) and is not used for majors, the 360 with 0 frame delay is. So 360 stick data would be best in regards to offline Ultra.

As for Edge on PS3 it is very responsive. Chanchai used my stick and said he felt it helped him stagger faster than his stick and thought it was very solid for offline FS, and again I can punish moves at exact frames fine with it, despite reported near 1f input lag levels. So i'm unsure how valid these tests are.

But unlike you Raze/Barry, I don't log into VFDC everyday to claim I'm some offline big shot, lol. I enjoy this game the best I can, like plenty of other members here.
Many of the other Westcoast players have Live tags for when they're not attending gatherings. People who choose to play for two years now on a freebie, wireless network, hammering away under alt accounts on their laggy joysticks, have only themselves to blame for their own damn misery.

Yeah, nice flaming, thanks. Newsflash: Sarah isn't bottom tier any more holmz - more training, less hating please! ;)
