Are there any Florida VFers here?

GhostDog- yeah bad habit of mine, if I start doing something that you don't bother stopping then I'll repeat till dead. To be brutally honest since you're an akira player you got the worse of it. I'm still scared of akira, always have been so I become a poking bitch when playing against him, unless I'm playing Shun Di. IMF has good anti low punch strats, actually it goes beyond that, out of everyone I think he has good anti "me" strats since he doesn't fall for any of my basic tricks anymore hehe. One thing you all can notice is that besides my shun di and maybe Lei Fei (way to hard to play Lei Fei like everyone else) all my other characters play exactly the friggin same, the bitter irony of not spending any real dedicated time..

Anyway GhostDog sorry my Shun didn't make a good showing for you but he's been in the closet for the past month as I tried to establish my Lei Fei a bit more. Next time just shrm me to death until I play someone better like IMF did

 

Alright guys it looks like we are all coming together to form quite a nice little group of dedicated VF4 players. So, it's possibly official we are a Fl. VF4 team!! Any Ideas for names? Just for fun =)!! One per person. Here's mine- "Virtua Dickey".......LOL IMF and dude should get it =). Oh and "ENK" this isn't another post "venting" on you. I'm just saying I'm sorry and anything you said I'm willing to put it in the past I'm quite aware that I can learn things from you lets just not beat each other up O.K. =). Friends?

 

I am all for a FL VF4 Team. Haven't got any good ideas for any type of name as of yet. I would personally like ot see everyone get together for practice a little more often. That would be cool. Unfortunately, I have such a different schedule than everyone else, it's kind of difficult for me.

As a team, do you think we should be able to cover all characters? If so, I should start practicing somebody other than Akira and Lau. Maybe Aoi or Shun (Shun, only since I don't know what's up with Uncauzi moving to NY).
Enk plays kage, lau, akria
Unc plays shun, lei fei, jeff, some akira
IMF plays lau, akira, wolf
Dude plays lion
Blonde one plays jacky
Gaishou plays Pai
Ghostdog plays everyone, I think.
We could still use a sarah, aoi, vanessa and also alternates for shun, pai, jacky, jeff, lei fei, and wolf. While we all have our fav's we should also try to get in at least some practice with an unlikely character. Any suggestions?

Hey I play aoi and vanessa to! Actually I play everyone but Sarah, Jacky, Wolf, Pai, and Kage. Honestly I think my aoi is 4X better than my Akira. In fact if I ordered my characters by how well I generally do when I play them.

1. Jeffry- Though Shun is the character I know much more about, this guy seems to get more consecutive wins.

2. Shun Di- My best guy arguably but I shelf him to much.

3. Lau- My Lau is a fiend however I shelf him waaaay more than any other character because there's sOOooO many Laus I'm frankly tired of seeing him

4. Aoi- She's very good imo, and has a lot of tools to control the fight honestly I think my gameplay with her is only outmatched by my Shun Di. However she's not a heavy hitter and she takes more finessing than some of the others.

5. Lion- I play a pretty anal Lion, I have more of a passive aggressive style with him than the dude but since he plays Lion so much I shelved him. I'll bring him back out soon though.

5. Vanessa- I played her almost exclusively, for quite sometime, shelfed her in an attempt to learn Lei fei. Someone remind me to play her if I forget next time.

6. Lei Fei- Yes I put my Lei Fei way the hell down here because he's so inconsistent in my hands anyway.

7. Akira- I just suck with this guy.

You can add Jacky to Enks list, he plays a decent jacky but he shelved him for kage it seems.

 

Just wanted to say thanks to Enkindu Gaishou, and Uncauzi for being up at Rocky' s last night. Had a lot of fun.

Enk- we will talk later about more Akira combo talk, etc.

Gaishou- very good to play/meet you finally. Keep up with the Sarah. We don't have too many Sarah's around and you seem to play her pretty well for the first time or so. Look forward to seeing you up there again.

Unc- Just got there a little late for me, but I will catch you later.

Brandon- Good you see you up there, and that you are getting back into the VF game. Keep it up with Aoi. She's got some funky jazz. If you need any advice, ask Uncauzi or Gaishou. I can try to answer any questions, but may need be as knowledgable about her as them.

I will try to make it up there tonight, I am pretty sure though that I will be making a trip up there today for some Akira, Lau, and maybe even some Shun practice--so if you read this Uncauzi, I would appreciate any advice since your the Shun Master.

Hey I'll be up there around 4 or so if anyone wants to play....

 

Me, IMF, and the dude will be up at rockies today around 4-5 and stay until it's likely no one is going to show up. Man all of us getting together will be a whole lot easier when the PS2 comes out! What is everyone's work schedule? because if we want to get good we have to practice like it's a sport and work and school are the only valid excuses for not showing up. No wait lets not clutter up the forum w/schedules. Everybody PM Mikey, my little brother. He'll feel special =). We need to set a day or two where we can all get together. peace.

oh i forgot, currently i am unemployed, so practice times will not usually matter to me so........

 

All I can say is just say "Hey we'll be up blah blah" because my life is hectic sometimes and sometimes it's just plain dull since I do freelance work. Since Rockys is my place ot blow off steam if you all start playing on the reg then most likely I'll catch you up there during my random stop byes.

Hey guys just posting to give a little positive reinforcement. Look, the only way we are going to get better is if we ask questions. There's a lot of things we are all missing in our games. Now here are some guidelines to follow in the progression process.

1st- Find a character that you can stomach =)
2nd- Go to Virtua Fighter Forum and type name of character then "search".
3rd- Find some vids of this character being used and try to emulate, adding little bits and pieces of your game around the "Solid Asian Game" =) that you will be witnessing in the vids.
4th- And I can't stress this the most "Ask questions!!!" If your watching vids and something happens and you don't know what in "gods" name that man just did. Ask one of us.
5th- (IS EDITTED) Hey guys check out Gamefaqs.com look for VF4 and Read IT, not the pai one, the one w/tekken comparison. "Gaishou" you heard me right? It just helped me a lot. "Fear My Vanessa" =), oh yes fear her!!!

- Me, IMF, and the dude have played TTT to a level some may call nationally respectable and we know what it takes to win. Play "People" not the CPU!!

NO EGOS, Everyone is a WINNER!!, I'M doing this so we don't lose "the BURN". =) later guys.

Enkindu, good luck btw don't touch VF4 at the underground if you get the chance. That machine has all manner of ghosts you don't want to be a part of.

Btw, there's a program called "IRC" that you can get on http://www.mirc.com it's a chat client and you can speak/argue/ask questions to some of the better players in Europe/US/Canada on it. I don't think anyone on there is from Japan. If you figure it out go to #vfhome.

I'm there idling most of the time, I'm sure you all will find more use out of these cats than me. My "burn" left with Tekken 3, be warned everyone on there tends to idle or engage in ridiculous conversation. Tip, say something wrong to say rsw, creed, or random resident ego maniacs and they will definately give you their undivided attention.

BTW,

You guys ever wonder why females don't really play fighting games?? Well at least in Orlando. I've played plenty of girls in Miami/Ft. Laud. and MOST of them were very good. I've played a few here, but none that were good at least. Are video games just a 'guy thing' or what? Sorry for the stupid question, never had anyone to ask it to though.

Yes they are. Most game girls I know of are fat and over weight, or otherwise unnattractive. However I've seen some good looking ones from California. But generally if their attractive and play games it's because their boyfreinds got them into it.
