It's funny how some opponents kinda sorta want you to play the way THEY want you to play.
Lol, maybe it's a control issue /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif it's like "hey, if I'm going to lose, I don't want to lose like that, I want to lose like this" o_O
It IS frustrating losing to the same thing, but that's not your opponent's problem, that's YOUR problem.
If you keep falling for the same crap, no matter how crappy it is, that is your own fault.

You can improve so much more if you look inward instead of outward for reasons as to why you lost.

In my experience, if I'm playing a Master I can usually say "I lost to someone much better than myself for this and that reason, etc." and I totally agree with you in looking inwards to improve and all that. In this Squish420 specific case all I can say is "I lost to the cheapest, cheesiest Master I ever played". I learned something though: I will not play him again! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

In some cases, I sort of disagree with this. There is more stuff in VF5 that is abusable and takes a lot less skill to use than to defend. DMPK spam, especially if the spammer is any good, is overpowered, especially online. The minimal guard stun combined with any lag at all makes the risk/reward all out of whack. The game would be cooler if there were just a no-DMPK gentleman's agreement.

It is better for your mental health if you just walk away, cuz the goal is to have fun, right?

No DM P+K is not overpowered. Just bait them do it, block punish with something like Akira /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif or your equivalent elbowspeed counter
or in case of wolf, duck and punish (note how against the wolf you ALWAYS have the option to escape no matter the situation EDIT: if it hits from the side meh). Sure DM attack is very useful but I cant for the life of me say its overpowered in 'normal' situation, even in online with slight lag.

I must say I found it very hard to catch good players with the dm p+k when I tried playing Wolf for a spit. Shit VF5395 escaped it EVERYTIME.

I wanted to chime in on people that say they don't want to play a person or a character(Vanessa) because of a cheap, or annoying tactic. I say thats the wrong approach. You should play them MORE. Play them till your eyes bleed, and your fingers are raw with open sores and beaten callouses. For those that claim SquiShaolin420 is cheesy, that is all the more reason to play him again. I'll tell you one thing about him, he has his offense, and thats all he wants to do...it doesn't matter what you want to do. That can work to your advantage when you just sit back and watch his flowchart in action.

Really the bulk of his game is backstance mix-ups. If you don't enjoy fighting someone in general that sounds to me like more of a reason to fight them. Fight them till you can figure out what they're doing, then take that away from them, and then make them play your game. It's satisfying and it helps build your yomi skills.

This is very true, the better players on here know I'll take a
beating repeatedly. I can honestly say that VF5395, Cozby401 and
a few others I play on a semi regular basis are MUCH better
players than me technically. I believe I can sometimes beat
Gentleman thief purely on the fact that I used to play him a lot.
Lord knows he plays much better quality competition than me on
    a regular basis.

Also remember building Yomi vs one players tactics can also
translate to other opponents. The Lei Fei hit squad for instance
SMB_is_me, Cozb401, and VF5395 all have similar tactics with a
few tweaks here and there. I wouldn't be able to knee them all
in the face if I didn't take a few flying kicks to my grill first.

Yeah, I basically have a pretty boring routine that I use to to stuff those guys (You know who you are!). It is boring for me and probably frustrating for them, but whatever, they bring it on themselves.

I think Jacky's is a bitch because he has so many moves and strings where he can't be thrown on block. And online it is hard to punish thanks to lag and very short guard stun. Also it is super frustrating being thrown when you have advantage b/c you expected DMPK. I feel like most people know that DMPK sucks and the game would be better if people stopped using it.

DMP+K does suck... Spamming it sucks even more...

It sucks because to counter it and not eat it, you have to wait for it. Unless you just want to predict it and go for a full circular every time. I think DM is good enough as it is, no need for DMP+K really, just bogs down good strategy...

IMHO, Blaze's is the best because you're F-ed on MC by a hotdog...

I think Blazes is pretty good because it's harder to make him pay
for it because of his heights fucked up hitbox. Personally I don't
have a problem with dmp+k spammers.

    I practically welcome it.

Elbow w/o canned follow up. Low punch. Standing jab. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif beats low punch and I swear it seems to work over 50% of the time on Wolf's DMPK. Maybe it tracks it sometimes. It also seems to track other guys DMPK. I like that. I also use Lau's low sweep since it's half circular and even Wolf dodges to the correct side I am ducking so I avoid the grab. Also lau's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is good even though it leaves at disadvantage on hit because I am crouching afterwards. It annoys the player and seems to make them do stupid things.

66P+K is half-circular that's why it "tracks" DM P+K. Your opponent needs to evade towards Lau's back to evade it. It's a good to mix-up with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, which is evaded towards front.

I know it's half circular. That's why it pleases me that it seems to work even when Wolf dodges to the right side. I think that because it has two hits, it can track DMPK. It seems to track other guys' DMPKs better than it does Wolfs.
