Bad Games Thread

BGs to Schakal(sp?) for beating my Brad then talking shit when I beat him by exposing his weakness.

I won by doing nothing but mashing DMPK and Brad's neutral throw. That's not to say I haven't beat him as Brad without resorting to this.

I've played him before with my Wolf & Jacky, beat him once with each and he quit.

Boring Shun, sore loser, BGs.

 

I played that guy today. You can tell he's cocky, and he hates to lose. His attitude is unfortunate cause as always you got to KEEP IT CLASSY!!! =D

He said I played boring...too bad he didn't realize I was playing with a character I don't really know(Wolf) so I was testing out moves really.

 

all schakal does with his shun is lay on the ground. When I asked him why he plays like this he replied "because I am drunk"... good answer, but still a boring playstyle.

 

I'm actually having real trouble punishing shun's laying down stance /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif I am requesting help in the vanessa matchup thread.

But i'm seriously fed up playing characters who don't need to guard, Xbox live be damned. I'm naming Shun, Lei Fei, Lion, Pai and Sarah. Yes Sarah. If i had a dime for every time /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif abare or for every sommersault after blocked FLA moves i'd be rich. And eileen i guess, thank god i haven't been runing into lots of eileen players on live lately.

From time to time i switch to my Lion and rejoin just to give this kind of players a taste of their own medicine - non-stop attacking. With annoying voice effects. And finger flipping.

If I see shuns lay on the ground on me I just do low leg sweeps, down attacks, and pounce attacks on him every time to force them out of it. I do them before they have a chance to do any attack off of those stance as well. That basic tactic would work against leis as well.

Quick low kicks and certain mids beat Pai's bokutai, and Lions other stance whatever it is called. I use that tactic on Badseed's Lion. Sarah is still a pain though but I will figure her out though.

Anyone find it weird that some of the people who are all anti-DMPK are some of the same people who mercilessly spam low punch?

I use DMPK on occasion, but usually against people who throw out 2P after every single attack. So my choices are: backdash in the middle of every freakin' combo I do, or dmpk until they stop that shit.

I almost feel bad if I've annoyed anyone with DMPK... I know that awhile ago, dmpk was the only way I could even compete with Happy Friend...

I'm just as confused... are you talking about blocking 2p then 6pk?

What I'm talking about is after I block a move and want to counter, if my opponent abares with 2p, I either have to backdash and 6pK, or dmpk, or keep blocking, or toss out 2p, which I absolutely hate.

I usually choose option 2.

Dude, without DMP+K a LOT of players on xbl would just be punching bags. Lol, I noticed that whenever a DMP+K spammer would try to fight me without using DMP+K (lol) they had a reeeeally hard time.

Funny story: Ladon came to visit me one day and I figured that the best way for me to learn how to deal with online-DMP+K was to let him fight online and then I could watch how he deals with it. I tried to get get him to fight some DMP+K spammers but when they got on, guess? They weren't doing DMP+K /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
So he goes "I don't know what you're talking about, these guys don't DMP+K at all." Lol, anyway, he pretty much destroyed these guys and half of the stuff he wanted to do wasn't even coming out bc he hardly ever plays online so lag's his toughest opponent XD so I'm watching these guys getting their asses kicked and I'm thinking "damn, they should use their bread&butter. They need some DMP+K." XD

 

I'm saying if you're playing brad online, and cant 6p,k to stop lowpunch when you have a small advantage, the game is flat out broken. dmpk is the least of your worries.

 

I actually tried ranking today for a alittle while and found this Akira play that I won't name because I despised his play so much, essentially all he did was DM P+K every time and he had a decent ranking too and a winning percentage at about 70%. I usually avoid abusing the DM P+K but I copied his style and killed him with it and it wasn't even close. How do you people that play ranked all the time deal with bastards like that as often as you do. people like him happens to be one of the main reasons why I avoid ranking as much as possible.

 

Tony, mix more circular attacks, and delayed attacks in your moveset and you won't see DMP+K.

Matter of fact, Brad's 6K is so messed up(risk/reward wise), that if you did that with slight delay at medium adv everytime, you'll beat both 2P and DMP+K and get 60+ damage on the smallest risk ever.

When I used to joke around with Brad, 6K was one of the only moves I used, cause it's hilarious.

 

Like KOD said, there are sooooo many other issues than DM P+K to worry about but from what I'm hearing, it seems all the focus is on DM P+K. Haha I guess maybe I started something eh? It's just kinda funny to see how some of you are complaining as if DM P+K is broken...it's there to be used just like any other move. Don't play the blame game just b/c you haven't trained yourself to deal with it. Granted it can be a pain sometimes(Grr damn I hate Kage's DM P+K) but just like any other move, you anticipate and punish. Simple as that. I mean when you let it get to you and it makes you bitter and causes you to pull or jump out of the ring, that's pretty lame IMO. Then you go on and accuse other people that they can't adapt? Hypocrite much? Just saying.

 

Just treat DM PK as you would any other evade. The only annoying thing about DM PK to me is the fact that it clashes with throws alot.

Oh and you guys need to add OM P (at small advantage and disadvantage) and backdash delayed mids into your games because they beat both 2P and DM.

 

You mean just backdash mid? If I would've been doing backdash delayed mid you'd have hit me in the stomach.

 

LOL amen Erdaug. I hate fighting those characters too...AHEM including Vanessa GRRR! Ugh I hate fighting Shun and his drinking...it actually promotes turtling b/c of it! He can go on the offense w/ his cheap counters and fast no lag time attacks or just drink away and get stronger. Bleh!

 

I don't see the DM P+K as a broken move it is just overused and covers up the real skill of the player. I just feel that people should be trying to diversify their move selection some that is all. I don't see enough people abuse 2P to talk about that or any other thing. If I see people try to abuse DM P+K I just copy their style and see if they like being hit by it too and most of the people that abuse tend to back off after that so that is how I adjust to it. If they can handle it good for them they have a decent game, if not then they get crushed by their own tactic simple as that. I see it a normal move not some overpowered technique because I know it to be just like any other move in general. (it is just annoying as hell when it is repeated over and over)
