Hmm... the last team (166) on the BT entry page looks pretty scary.

anyway, hopefully everything will go smoothly. I think LPC73 is bringing a video camera and I'm gonna have wireless internet connection on my laptop. Dunno about putting out film when BT sells the footage, but I guess we'll see. Prolly could put up pix/matches as soon as they happen though.

I'll finally will get to use my server for something.

Thanks Srider and Spotlite for all your help. ..

So here is Team Socal's tentative plan:
We will arrive on the 19th at 3pm. We have separate hotels... as of now PDth, GCheese, and his friend are staying in a hotel together. VfAkira, Ken, and I are staying at the TOYOKO INN JR. IKEBUKURO KITAGUCHI ( http://www.e-hoteljapan.com/hotel_data/TOYOKO_INN_JR._IKEBUKURO_KITAGUCHI.htm )

Ken I will be arriving on the 20th. After talking to Mukatsuku Shun he is willing to show us around that night. The plan as far as I know is to get to the hotels, eat dinner, and go to arcade. Something about going to Sportsland arcade? So I am assuming that is where we will be on the 19th. If anyone wants to contact me you can probably reach me at that hotel. Then I will to contact you from there. Anyways hope to see everyone there maybe we can all go eat first...a little over a week left.

p.s. if you call the hotel..I will be under the name
    Brian Salazar

Sounds like a plan. I just hope Ken can get over jet lag before the tourney. Anyway, if anybody wants to get together, I'll be staying with Brian and Ken at the same hotel. I'll be flying in on the 18th in the afternoon. Probably won't get to the hotel until after 6pm.

Anyway, if anybody wants to meet up before the tourney can call me on my cell phone. PM me if you want the number. Summah and StompOutLoud should have it.

I know I'll be at either Nishispo or Hitech Sega Shibuya on the day I arrive... prolly hit ikebukuro sega since it's apparently near my hotel.

The tourney is coming up fast, so I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

    Hey Everyone,

Talked to Yamagishi last night, everything's GO for the US teams that are coming. Socal team had already registered, as had Adam's International Team. Since the Cappo/Kaz/Jerky team hadn't officially registered as far as I could see, I went ahead and did it through e-mail to Yamagishi, listing all the team members/characters.

According to him, there are still about 20-30 slots open for teams to register, and registration will remain open to non-seeded teams for a while longer. So, if any of the other people going want to put together a team last-minute, I think it's okay, you can let them know with an e-mail to vfr@beat-tribe.com. Yamagishi just wanted to make sure that teams without any points going in KNOW they will have to go through the "Preliminaries" that Srider described.

Regarding fees, the 11,000 yen fee is per TEAM, not per player. The per Player fee is the 2,500 yen fee mentioned (I guess this is for people who show up at different times or something). The fee for just attending & watching is somewhere between 2,000 and 2,500 yen according to him.

Everything looks like a GO! people please show up at 8am sharp, it's gonna be a long day!

    Good Luck everyone!

    Bryan

Well, seems like all the work is done. Everything is set for beat tribe cup. Now someone please remember to bring some beat tribe souvenirs back for me. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif (one of those beat tribe jackets would be super nice. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

    I arrive in three days.

I will be going to West Shinjuku Sportsland

That is where all the top heads play.

    Ikebukuro Gigo
    Shibuya High Tech Land

There are many, many other VF arcades, but these are the strongest ones.

    See you.

Anyone need directions to any of these or need help for anything else, just PM me.

For anyone who's interested, Beat-Tribe has re-opened the Web-Based entry form on the VFR site for the BTCup. Teams wishing to enter now have until 3/14 to do so by filling out the simple form on the site.

    Hey Spot..
    I did have a question non-tourney related..
Is there any big party'ers/drinkers that you know of in the japanese crew??
I'd really like to go out and actually dance/party with the crew..
or do you if there is kindof like an after party or celebration party at some club or bar after these events..??
that is something i'm really interested in as well..

You won't have to worry about drinking/partying. And if you want to go clubbing, there's always Roppongi.

Either way, I'm sure 99.999% of the VF players drink. I'm sure we'll hit a bunch of bars while we're there.

Oh yes, a little bit of alcohol helps your VF skill alot. its weird how a little alcohol turns into alot isn't it. btw are japanese tournaments such as tribe cup played on the console or 3 button arcade. I'm looking to compete in some console tournaments sometime.
