surprised no one has mentioned Bloody Roar! I loved that game until they fucked it up with the gamecube version. Fav character had to be Long or ShenLong! Now If only I can have a XBLA version with online........ >=D

I liked the GC version:( Maybe cause I didnt really care about balance, or mechanics. I still had a great deal of fun with it.

To be honest that's just my opinion and I respect those who do like the GC version. For me it just seem liked it lost that spark that the first 2 had and just didn't work for me. 3 was alright but never really sank my teeth into it.

    Best Fighting game...

2D: King Of Fighters 98 bar none. A fantastic game i was a master at it.
Second is SSF4AE you all know the reasons...

3D: I have to say VF5FS. Sorry i havent any prior experience
in the VF series and currently i love this game.
Tekken Tag Tounrament comes second but i dont like the direction of the Tekken series anymore. Heavily relying on
eternally juggles plus the fact that if you fall down once
you manage to get up you have already lost 50% of your health...
I hope TTT2 to be a good game in the vain of its first iteration.

Overall (1.VF5FS 2.SSF4AE) I love both of them and i enjoy them
to its fullest potential and maybe 3rd TTT2 if its online is any good.
Wont abandon VF5FS or any of htem though...

    LOVE! [IMG]

Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution is the best fighting game imo. VF5FS is also great so far, but the nostalgia bonus is a legitimate factor and there are other points Evo excels in (already mentioned many times in this forum)

this is one of my favorite fighters for the PSP (behind Tekken 6 and maybe Guilty Gear Judgment). if you have custom firmware, you can modify Tekken 5 for PSP to have bound moves [IMG]

The game where things were still simple, juggling wasn't a huge factor in the game and Tekken was STILL Tekken! indeed it was a great game! I miss having a PS3. Used to love going on DR Online a just play in lobby games for hours on end! Doubt the playerbase is still as big now even if I do get one again.

Just seriously hope they don't screw it up with TTT2 as it does look like a promising game!

Anyone remember this? Admittedly, this used to be one of my favorites on the PS1 as a teen. Not sure if I can say the same now though! XD

1:41 Jax Fatality, and since its from Midway, does that mean that Jax's version in MK9 is a Klassik fatality?

my top 5 fightan games not including VF

    1. SF Alpha 2 - Simple with no messey ISMs like alpha 3 had and i like being able to opt for a custom combo or use my meter for supers. But i do like alpha 3 too
    2. SF III series - third strike is the best, but I have lots of nostalgia tied to vanilla SFIII the first time I saw those gorgeous sprites I was floored, I remember the way Ryu's Gi animated around on him was the coolest thing I ever saw on arcade machine.
    3. Tekken 5 - Yes vanilla 5, never played DR but having the arcade history alone on the Tekken 5 disc makes it my fave.
    4. Garou/KOF 98 - they get a tie because they're both SNK games and both fun as fuck!
    5. Project Justice - if you haven't played it, do it now

    didn't make the top 5: SF4, MVC3/2, CVS2, WakuWaku7

It was like having a Tekken box set in one! (without the added extras and T4!!....... ugh! Hated that one!!)

If it had online back in the day I would say it was the complete package! love this one FAR MORE than 6! [IMG]

The Guilty Gear X2's and Darkstalkers games bring me the fondest memories, and Skullgirls seems to be shaping up to be the game that I always wanted if it continues to develop.

VF4:Evo is always high on my list for the change it brought in the way I play games, and VF5:FS is a game I really can't find any flaws with.

I just wish people would stop convincing me to drop so many hours on Marvel and SSF4. >.<

My top 5 favorite and votes for best fighting games (I'm only going with the obscure ones in this list):

    1.) Tobal 2.
    2.) Last Bronx
    3.) Ergheiz
    4.) Tobal #1
    5.) Art of Fighting 3

    Honorable mention:
I really dug the sparring/custom combo style of Fighters Impact and though if it was developed in later forms, it could've been a real contender. However, the characters were boring and I'm sure players were confused by the fighting style selection for each character.

I had some great times with Ehgeiz, Last Bronx, and Tobal #1. They were a blast to play back then.
