Just ordered Splinter Cell : Chaos Theory, God hand, and Prince of Persia the sands of time. Looking forward to playing em. Also finishing Devil May Cry 1 which is a great game.

If I could take the characters from Wrath of Heaven, the gameplay from Fatal Shadows/Kurenai, and make an updated version of part 2, I would.

I just have very fond memories of part 2, part 1 was ok, the 1.5 was alot better(I played a pirated version of this one a long time ago). I've got to say though that the very first game, is the one I'm least familiar with though.

Also, part 3 was better on Xbox than it was ps2(I had both versions).

I never played much of them after the second one but that Tesshu guy in Wrath of Heaven was easily the best character in the entire series.

If Chaos Theory is the same as the Xbox version (I think I read somewhere that they were different) then it's an incredibly good game. Easily the best Splinter Cell to date (although Conviction is shaping up nicely).

Shit, should have read up on the ps2 version first. Apparently its not very good at all and is a watered down port. ah well. Double Agent was alright.

Chaos Theory on the Xbox may have had the best graphics of any game that came out on the system. I think that Double Agent released on the Xbox and didn't look as good as Chaos Theory. Splinter Cell was meant for the Xbox. It was the only console that allowed for the advanced shadowing Ubisoft wanted in the game.

Finished Sands of time.... what an amazing game. For some reason still liked the new one more still. For those who have played them... is warrior within or the two thrones worth buying?

Also recently ordered okami and viewtiful joe

Okami is one of those drastically underrated titles.... its nothing short of amazing to be honest. The artstyle and animation is inspiring.

I really like the Legacy of Kain [/size]series. Theres a total of five in the series, and 3 of them are on ps2. The great thing about the series is the gameplay is varied from game to game, and the story is simply incredible. Probably the best overarching story in any game series IMO.

Blood Omen (#1) is a psOne game, but it can be downloaded on PSN. This is where it all starts, so its important to at least know the origins of Kain. Its a great game overall, and I'd really recommend it as a $6 download. If you don't get a chance to play it, ask someone about the story before going on to the next game.

Soul Reaver (#2) is also a psOne game. Again, fantastic gameplay and story. Not sure how well its aged though, but at the time it was ground-breaking for several reasons. The ending is a mad cliffhanger though. You only really need to know the start of this game's story to continue the series.

Soul Reaver 2 (#3) a straight sequel to Soul Reaver, similar in both gameplay and story. The graphics are much better and it answers some of the questions from the previous game. Lots of huge story revelations in this one. If you've followed the series thus far, prepare to have your jaw dropped!

Blood Omen 2 (#4). I liked the gameplay in this one but the story is a bit weak. It takes place before the soul reavers, so its not terribly important to the story. Skip it if you want (but the gameplay is good)

Defiance (#5). This is where it all wraps up. The gameplay is great, because both Kain and Raziel are at their most powerful and basically just destroy everyone though the whole game. Think a vampire version of The Force Unleashed. The story is flat-out incredible. If you've played up to this point, you'll be heavily invested in the characters and the world, and this game will not dissappoint!

I have lots of other fav ps2 games, but most of them have been mentioned already. Just thought I'd give shouts out to LoK as the best (IMO) story/series in all videogamedom.

Okami: Just an awesome and beautiful game, in every aspect.
Shadow of the Colossus: I have never played a game with a better atmoshepere than that game.
    ICO: Same as above
Devil May Cry 1: Imo the best DMC part, and DMC rapes everything [IMG]
Ring of Red: Really good round-based strategy game (With Mechs!)
FFX: Actually the only FF I played through multiple times and somehow really my favourite part, even better than 7.
