Remember when the Muslim guy stabbed the Dutch film maker to death over his movie...

How about killing people over a comic in a newspaper...

How about blowing your own people up because they are not as fundamentally religious as you are...

    Talk about over-zealous...

You gotta be brutally realistic with yourself or you will end up in denial. I think religion can be a very polarizing, "othering" thing.

There wasn't hate in Greivers words, it was a light-hearted joke. Seems like you are the one bringing the hate and that's why you're contradicting yourself.

I don't care either way though, just found it funny earlier. No need to make a big deal of it.

EDIT: Gernburgs don't bother man, they can do what they want... even eating bacon but if people outside their religion does it then shit hits the fan.

I wonder what would happen if I made a lighthearted joke about something like that. And yes, I brought the hate, I hate it when people express such animosity towards religion. It wasn't even my religion.

And gernburgs. assume away about me and what I support and condone, whatever.

And cuz, tony doesn't get to mock me.

I know you guys may think that my two opinion is biased but I wasn't always a Christian. I was born into a Catholic family but I never took to the Bible. I always thought it just a book full of crazy stories. When I would hear about this "Jesus guy" I could just imagine people thinking that He was doing miracles when He really wasn't.
Like when He "supposedly" walked on water. I thought that the people watching him were across the lake and all he did was walk on some stones that were sticking out and everybody "thought" that he had walked on water /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
I used to have thoughts such as these and I did not believe until God started pointing me towards Christianity.

Anyway, even then when I believed in something greater than us but NOT ANY RELIGION, I knew that there was nothing wrong with most of the religions that were out there, it was the people that made the religions look bad. I studied other religions for a while before becoming a Christian and like I said, most of them had morals and principles that were totally fine with me.

What people tend to forget is that humans will always be humans, no matter how great or small they are. They will ALWAYS falter. No matter who you are in this world, you will ALWAYS mess up at some point or another. So what's religion for if it doesn't just "fix" people? Most religions aren't tools. They're not the meant to be treated as the end of the road of sin. It's just the beginning of a new way of life.

The problem is, imho, that there are horrible people in this world. The kind of people who you give a simple little job like a movie usher to. Now all of a sudden, they feel all high and mighty. They start trying to boss people around /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
People such as these take up ALL kinds of jobs, hobbies, religions, etc.
Ever knew a guy that read a book on something and then all of a sudden he started acting like he knew EVERYTHING about what he read from just ONE book? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif
Then there are those that abuse their powers. They come from all walks of life AND they take up all kinds of interests. Some of them become cops and doctors and push their weight around when they feel like it.

This happens in religions too. There are wonderful religions out there that preach love and brotherhood but people take that message and instead start preaching damnation.
Of course there are horrible religions out there too like Satanism and others that were written by warriors and killers.
These religions OF COURSE ask you to kill for the sake of that particular religion.
When cynics look at Christianity, they want to point out things that happened in times of chaos. The mindset for a lot of those people was kill or be killed. Thank God we now live in an age where you can call police to help you instead of having to take justice into your own hands. Back in those days, guards usually came around to collect taxes, rape your women and kill those who they felt deserved it.

Anyway, I didn't want to make this too long, I just wanted to point out that there are IDIOTS in EVERY group. Not too long ago I found out about a Nobel prize winner who is a white supremest /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif You would think that at least in THIS group of people there wouldn't be any idiots but nope, there are idiots everywhere.

I'm not going to apologize for what a lot of idiots who have decided to become Christians have done.
I can only defend MY religion and own up to MY actions. I don't have control over anybody else. I got enough issues and shortcomings to resolve myself to worry about other people's issues too.

The most messed up thing is that out of the MILLIONS of good, hard-working, law-abiding, decent Christians in the world, the ones that will get the most limelight are the THOUSANDS of bad ones.
Oh well, this happens to all kinds of people all over the world. It happens to police officers (yes, the percentage of good cops is higher than bad but good cops don't get limelight). I know that it's because it would be boring to see (example) Father Bill go to work everyday and live a really good life and do really good things (yes people, this happens!) that would be BOOOORIIIING!
Instead, we want to see Pastor Tom breaking rules and laws and being a hypocrite and a total douche =/

I'm NOT saying that it's the media, what I'm saying is that the media does not focus on the millions of goody-two-shoes but instead focuses on the hundreds/thousands of evil doers.
    That's good TV!

Hahaha, I got this funny feeling that Fulan's got a chip on his shoulder when it comes to me. Oh well, if the shoe fits, Fulani. Since you wanna jump up, how do you feel about the killing of those that won't convert to your religion?
I'll await your rough and tough reply where you flex your e-muscles. You might think shit's sweet cuz of my sense of humor but, trust me, I ain't always funny.
I met you and I saw right through you... but keep up the tough guy act though, you might fool the kids.

Just saw your last edit: "tony doesn't get to mock me" /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif I wish you could understand just how tough you sound /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

So the shoe fits? Then what the fuck is the problem?
See, you got this, umm, thing about thinking that people care or give a damn about your religion. I was probably one of the few Christians there but I wasn't throwing that in anybody's face and if somebody who I thought "should have known" didn't and or forgot and said something like "Jesus ****** ******* Christ" in front of me, I wasn't going to spaz on them and hold it against them and pull this crap you're pulling now.
"You used The Lord's name in front of me and put some curse words in between his name. Waaaah!" /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
Dude, nobody cares. Not only that but we're surrounded by Atheists. You think they care? I care about your customs as much as you care for Christian and Jewish customs. One of the many differences between us is that I don't hate you or your religion and I would never try to kill you or anyone for not converting to my religion.

Lol at me? Oh no, no, no. Lol at you!

My point was not wether your should care, (or anyone for that matter) or that you offended me. People offered me drinks and food many times, they don't know then they don't know thats okay. I sat with people who ate and drank. I didn't make a big deal out of my fasting, nor did I throw it in peoples faces. When I did anything religious I quietly backed out of the conference room and did it somewhere private. The only real religious talks I had were in private like at Rodneys place, so don't act like I was making a big scene over there.

My point is you don't know me, don't pretend you do.

And why wouldn't you defend the honor of a man you admire? Or in your case, worship.

Whoa, whoa, Matt. Firstly, your initial post was a direct attack on a religious group. Secondly, nobody is "threatening" anything. Please find the post where either me or Fulan said that next time we see each other "blahblah".

I understand that you have limited English but you jumped the gun when you replied to Instant Overhead who was actually trying to help you out by pointing out 3 movies about your topic.

Look, your first post is offensive to begin with. If you want to jump on here and bash Christians, that's cool, do your thing. But don't get fucking pissed when you stir up controversy with something so sensitive as religion.
    Are you fucking serious?

and tony, I went back and read my post again, I stand by what I said. If you have a problem with it, than I guess me and you are not going to be good friends, because I cannnot fucking stand preaching. I would not tolerate you or anybody else giving me the lecture on what makes us good or bad people.

Just so you know in case we meet, I am a nice guy, but short tempered and prone to lose my shit if people push the wrong buttons.
