Second, being a server and therefore making anywhere between 400-600 in a week is pretty much one of the higher paying jobs someone my age, who does not have his master's, can get. Oh, that is, unless you pretend to own a business like Vith_Dos. And, finally, third...you cannot talk down to an A student who attends a $30,000+ per year private university (most of which my scholarship money pays for) about being low on the food chain, when you are a moderator on a Virtua Fighter forum. Sorry dude, that alone disqualifies you from sitting at the cool kids' table. And as disappointed as you may be in my analytical skills, and my lack of research into how many VF4 arcades exist in the USA, how many chinamen leave their rice paddies per year in the far east to play at the arcades, and how many pimple faced nerds who pretend to own unsuccessful businesses actually exist on this board, I'm sure the next time you ask I can provide charts.
And for the record, I was very surprised you would refer to the restaurant I work in as low class, since a) you're probably a welfare-supporting liberal who considers illegal immigrants the salt of the earth for working in the back of low class restaurants, cutting your grass, and boning your unattractive imaginary wife, and b) because if fate so had it that you actually did date that imaginary girl you lie to your internet friends about, you probably would have met her at one of the handicap tables at the aforementioned low class restuarant. MS is a terrible thing my friend, but you'd be surprised at how hard it is for them to struggle when you're wasted and on top of them. Tell that love story to your unattractive imaginary children, it's one for the ages!

The shitty thing about conservatism is that no matter how many times the real world rebukes conservative ideolgy (Monarchy, Imperialism, Robber-baron capitalism, Slavery, the Great Depression, woman's lib and so on) this defunct philosophy gets resurrected from the dustbin of history.

America is a nation founded upon the ideals of the Enlightenment, yet conservatives fight and fight to work against these American values; science is bad, manichean worldviews, etc. The reason it can happen is simple: money! In the 60's when conservatism seemed dead, various wealthy misanthropes worked to create a "movement" complete with a veneer of intellectual respectabilty. These detestable fucks like the Buckleys, Kochs, Coors, Richard Mellon-Scaife, Sun Myung Moon and Ruppert Murdoch basically use their family money to create think tanks, fund university posts, buy media outlets etc. Then these entities become polluters of the intellectual and media environment.

Think of the Washington Times, Fox News, the Heritage Foundation, the American Enterprise Institute, The Hoover Institue, Regenry (remember the Bell Curve?), the Cato institute and so on.

The thing about all these places is that they recruit these intellectual prostitutes who typically have second rate minds and would have trouble succeeding in legitimate academia. Luckily for them (and sadly for the world) there are the various rich guys who set up the various components of the right wing bullshit machine (RWBM). Many buffoons like WARCHILD can hope to find employment somewhere in the RWBM. Then they will delude themselves into thinking that they have actually succeeded on their own merit, as oppossed to being the paid fluffer of the radical reactionary American right.

The ironic thing is that these idiot propagandists always talk about how in America anyone can be successful if they are hard working and virtuous. But of course they work for entities that never make any money and can only exist because they suckle at the teat of various and sundry Chester McMoneybags characters. It would be funny if there weren't real world consequences like the amputees and corpses coming back from Iraq.
