Calling all High Level VF players!

I can't really stand up to most of the names you mentioned, but I do have a decent Eileen that's getting better. Given what an underrepresented character she seems to be, I'd be more than happy to try to make her look good on stream so that others might consider picking her up.

 

I'd like to throw my name into this ring. I'm not the best player, but I like using lots of flash and I'm really good at learning new characters. Plus I love the idea of promoting the community with something constructive.

If there's a character not represented in your list, let me know who and I'll do my best to learn them. Right now I'm using Jean as my main so people can start getting familiar with what he's capable of.

 

I would love to be apart of this. Room full of killers? Yes please!

Way more response to this than I thought it would be. So here's what I'm gonna do. And please, no one take offense to any of this.

I'm gonna consider the true player list invite only. And I'm more or less gonna rely on the community to let me know who should be in it. So if you got a bunch of people backing you, you can get in. The OG people are kind of shoe in's though. These players will be actual showcase matches. 1v1, 2 person room, first to 5, first to 10, player matches, whatever. And I'll do my best to announce when these streams will happen and actually promote them.

To everyone else(myself included ): We'll be on more of an open to the public list. I'll start up some room matches and people can join in and get some games in on stream.

Again take no offense to anything.
the only reason I'm doing this is because there is no way I can accommodate 1v1 time to the volume of players that responded already. I'll do my best to though.

UPDATE: Add my GT (it's in my profile) and I'll do my best to announce when I started a room.

 

I think that's fair enough, but at the very least there should be 1 of each character in the cast so there's a taste of everything.

 

Definitely not a bad idea. Just wish some of the huge names would be willing to back this. Though the thread is only a day old so yeah. Gonna start adding some more players now.

Well if the list is going to be exclusive, could another project be started for the rest of us? Some people will want to see mid-level VF, because they won't understand the nuance of the high-level stuff. Plus, the high-level stuff can look really intimidating.

Maybe having some match replays that are commentated with people explaining why they did what they did would be good too. So a new player could watch a video and someone would say "I did this move here because I noticed that my opponent always evades up, so I used a half spinning move".

Just throwing out ideas. I'd really like to see the community grow. Thats why I'm being really nice to other players I meet online and try to answer their questions (and not judge them). The more friendly stuff we can do the better, IMO.

 

I did mention a little project for the rest of you. I can't promise any kind of commentary, first of all because I can't commentate on VF, secondly because I don't understand the game as well as a pro.

If anyone wanted to do commentary on their own match they can feel free to hit me up, I could try something like that.

But Whiteworm I'm gonna try to post up here when I go live with a public room so anyone can come in and play.

 

Just got done doing a lot of streaming, almost 3 hours worth. Was pretty fun actually.

I'll upload some replays to youtube tomorrow after work.

 

Thanks for the stream, it was nice to watch. The image was stuttering a lot most of the time, though. I wonder if it was just me.

Props for doing something like this. I think a lobby with 4-5 players is more interesting to watch than just 1v1 though.

Also, in my opinion Europe needs to have its own streamed lobby, its no good playing across atlantic and call it 'high level'. Although I dont know who would do that. I dont have the know-how nor the second internet connection for it myself.

ps. wingchun_warrior, I notice you sent me a friend invite, but I dont really want to have people in my friends list I dont intend to play (youre US). So I respectfully decline.

Cool I'll do that when I get home. I'll keep streaming public rooms that people can join and play in but I really do want to get some high level player matches to the community, IE sitting in a 3 or 4 person room where I just stream some of the best fighting eachother.

We could even set up scheduled events to try and promote the game more, assuming people are willing to set a time to play. I know online isn't exactly the best way to do all this but keeping coverage of the game going outside of tournaments is important I think.

Also, can you not edit a post after a certain amount of time? Haha, guess the first post is staying like that.

I don't think it was just you. After streaming for about an hour it starts to do that I think, I'm looking in to ways to fix it.

 

The time limit to edit posts outside of the Tournaments/Events section currently is 8 hours after last edit.
