I didn’t chk with MM, too far away. As for SC, err…mai kong lah. But I did chk out those Sony shops at Wisma and Bugis, and a couple of shops at Lucky, Taka and Tangs too, but all bo stock. I ended up buying Metal Slug 3 and a pair of VF sticks instead. Taka shld have their new stock this week, I hope...

I got my ID:SS from Taka last evening. The game is really good and addictive, no wonder it’s hot in the arcade.

As for Metal Slug 3, if you like classic 2D-platform-shooting fun, die die also must get. IMO, MS3 is the best in the Metal Slug series and MS4 (arcade) is crappy. In MS3, though there are only 5 missions, each stage (except for the last which btw is super long) has 2 to 4 branching paths, so very high replay value /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif.

Got my jitpoon Evo also. Can’t wait for the ang mor one. I think sega should give those who successfully completed all the training sessions, missions, sub-quests and quests some kind of virtua degree. Really super cool.

Talk about gfs, most guys but not all, are very petty. Next time when someone pats you on the shoulder, throw a low punch, shdrm(MC), punch, dbplm… /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

ID: SS story mode is freaking difficult. But, if u understand nihon, the dialogue from the competitors is darn funny man. eg, if u r too fast and way ahead of the other car, u will hear someone shouting in jap "he disappeared" or "impossible!!" hahaha. very funny one. my bro translate for me.

Summah also playing like siao. He is around stage 28 for the story mode. super fast. my bro around stage 10......But, time attack quite fast. c when, the few of us ID:SS fans can come together for a time attack session.

No lah, ur combo no good lah. yoho P shoulder ram double kick, but must make sure that the S.O.B is standing open stance. whahahaa.

Finished story mode? Wow. I just got started only. And I’ve been practicing in the time attack mode like seow. I find the digi-controller a tad too sensitive, comptemplating whether to get GT force steering wheel. Dun know if it's worth it, rather expn and not sure if compatible with other racing games…

Scolaire : Last couple of weeks, I’ve been 'training hard' in the quest and training mode(Evo), hoping to raise my level of play a bit leh. Otherwise when I play with ppl like yourself or morpheus or, heck, practically everyone at bugis, I always kena setup, kena thrashed, kena thrown here and there…damn jia luk /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.

Bugis is like Kwang Ming Ting, all the ‘wu lin gao shou’ gather there...

 

well..Ini D works rather fine on the pad.

The only problem is....my thumb hurts alot after all those corners..ouch

Just something I should tell u....

The common assumption many ppl has abt driving game is , pad is almost the same as using a wheel(well, those I spoke to anyway)....In reality, it's actually quite different.

The pad for me..is quite a good investment...but, I'll only seriously recommend it for racing nuts (ie, me).
For example, I love F355...I bought the PS2 version just so I didn't have to switch between the DC n PS2 all the time(now, if only VOOT or Force got the same treatment, even better!)....but with the ps2 pad, F355 is very unstable..U cannot accurately adjust the speed of ur vehicle...esp in the case of F355's demanding precision from the player. Unfortunately, I do not have my wheel with me...(I'm not carrying that across oceans! The stick n PS2 is problematic enuff, dam VF ^^)...Which means in F355's case..I crash heaps n spin heaps..yet it still remains extremely fun for me.

I suppose it's like VO...playing it on a pad is so so..playing it on a Twin sticks is mad! However, Twin sticks imo, is only recommended for hardcore...otherwise, the cost doesn't justify the purchase.

 

I was told that steering on the racing wheel is much more ‘tight’ than the pad, but I never really did get a go at it…

If you love F355, then you really are hardcore /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif… For me it’s rpgs and survival horror games.

Only if ID:SS has a 2 player mode..

Still remember this guy who took up the entire corridor between the SC machines and the VF machines ramming maybe all 120 Kg of his weight into my back and slamming me into the control panel.... /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Another crazy thought just struck me... What if I played VF the way similar characters are played in Fighting Vipers ? Play Akira like Bahn, or Jacky like Tokio..... /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

 

The bugis arcade mgt is darn smart this time. They know most of the pple choose to play the cheaper version. Now, die, no more 1 token vf.

I dislike paying $1 for VF. Sigh..... May not be going down for a long time, cos' I just bought C&C generals. will be playing online. hehehe.

I wouldn't mind paying $1 to start IF the card readers and coin slots weren't that screwed up. I don't think I'll be going to bugis anymore, unless the readers/slots are fixed. I'm not going to pay that kind of $ for crap machines. Period.

 

ALL: Apologies guys, the older versions were taken away mainly to make way for the "KOF- Relive the Classics". Think they forgot about the $1 thing for the machines with card readers. Will pursue this matter and reply asap. Once again, apologies...

pltan: i just went PS to reccee today and indeed there is a Evo machine there...50cents..but do not b fooled by the other machine next to it..cos the other one was VF4 machine..i was like saw the machines,wanted to play then saw someone playing the Evo machine...dun intend to disturb his game so went to play the other one then realise that the one i m playin was the older version...wifout the nice nice "akira knee" n "single palm dashing elbow"..hahaa...sibey gao siaoz..hahaa.. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

 

Thanks! It is now 50cents to start but when are you guys gonna fix the card readers? One of it for the 2nd player totally cannot read at all(the one not next to the KOF machine).
