Having played all the Castlevanias on the GBA and the new one on PS2, I can safely say that the best one since SotN is Circle of the Moon. If you have a GBASP play it again- it isn't so hard to see. The best thing is, it is actually a little challenging!

I write this now because I recently played it again myself, and was surprised by how good it was/is.

Lament of Innocence is a solid game. Not nearly as "wow-inducing" as SotN, but right up there.

It's a hell of a lot better than the other 3D forays, and definitely a step in the right direction as far as 3D Castlevania games go.

LoI is not bad, but I would have preferred a 3-d Castlevania to have more platforming, a higher degree of difficulty, and a mobile camera. Maybe a mapscreen and layout similar to Metroid Prime. Now that was a classic game updated and brought into 3-D with style!
