I'd like to see Krav Maga, a fighting style created and used by the Israeli Special Forces, in a future VF instead of Sambo, since they are very similar, mainly because the Israeli's are over the top bad asses. If an Israeli soldier gets hit with a rock near the border, there asses send 2 gunships and clear out 5 blocks out of Palestine, Syria. Also I think it would be cool to see a jewish fighter. I can't recall any game where they are represented.
But the one thing about both Sambo and KM is that they would be very similar to Van's Vale-Tudo.

Sambo and Krav Maga are only similar in how they became developed...though Krav Maga more came from one dude whereas Sambo came from a huge cultural movement. Fuck it all, they need to have me as their next fighter.

I wanted to add Filipino martial arts on the list, but they mainly use weapons...

    Karate fighter.
    TKD fighter.

BTW: I think Jacky isn't very Bruce Lee like charakter. Law (tekken) and especially Jann Lee (DOA) is much more similar IMHO

I'm a capoeira instructor myself and although I would like to see another representative of capoeira in fighting games. I'm not going to say capoeira is the most effective martial art out there. The fact of the matter is capoeira is primarily a game, but the conditioning and aspects of the game can lend itself to a fight no doubt. Capoeira honestly is a babe in the martial arts world and people have been trying to evolve it for some time to make it more martial.

When it comes down to it, it's more of a cultural phenomenon.
A lot of people don't realize that when capoeira was used by criminals in Brazil it was more of a dirty fight. Those round kicks commonly were used as a distraction if you grabbed me? I stabbed you. Didn't know I had a knife huh? Before that capoeira was more of a game ritual, since freed slaves in Brazil lived in the woods all that spinning and rolling on the ground was hardly practical for fighting except in cleared areas. (A sentiment even shared by Mestre Acordeon.) Looking further back it has roots in candomble (african religious ritual, please don't call it voodoo.)

What I feel capoeiristas need to understand is that "Capoeira" is the game that incorporates the ginga. If you strip it down it's not capoeira anymore but a butchered form of an african fighting style capoeira was born out of and coincidentally looks a lot like anything else. It's like take a boxer, and have his start doing takedowns and submissions. Are you going to say he's boxing?

Capoeira is forever looking for it's identity in the martial arts world and for marketing reasons I can see why. Honestly though if you are looking to fight? Learn something else since this is the long way around. I've been in mad rodas where "FIGHTS" break out and seen the sloppy side of people trying to apply movements that are part of the game. It's really not pretty. Being an american instructor I've had way to many fights with Brazilians that feel slighted. (especially in brazil) When I bust their ass after the fists start swinging they get all dumbfounded. Sorry I practice capoeira, muay thai and bjj.

    Now lay down.

Anyway an Angoleiro would be mad cool if they pimped him out.
I would also like to see an BJJ guy that doesn't get off you lol.
Or a guy named pookie who just fights dirty with fast hands.

Eddy Gordo= worst character ever! Button mash city! Perfect example of why that style sucks in a fighting game. Plus it doesn't work in real life either!

Yeah they look and act like him, but there JKD is trash. Not every JKD char has to look and act like Bruce Lee.

The most important bit of JKD is the sound. If you don't have the sound it's not right.
