Character you fear the most on offensive

KAGE is my worst nightmare!! There is this player named YooLose on PSN that destroys me. I always fight him when I see him because it's a challenge just to figure out his mix ups. Hell his ability to punish is on some SUPER YOMI level! Maybe I'm a bit of a sadist, but one day I will beat this guy. I'm not that good, but I will keep trying until I get it. A good fight in Virtua Fighter is like nothing else! Is it bad to always look for a high level fight?

 

Akira is the character I fear running into the most with all his ridiculousness.

Jacky and Shun follow close behind due to the confusion I always seem to be in from the mixups.

 

I actually just played him a bunch of matches, he's really good. I was totally surprised because most folks are pretty one trick or a pattern but he just pulls the most random shit out in a match and does it well. I got a few matches against him and even in the rounds he beat me, I got one or two in at times but at others he just blew me out. Good learning experience.

 

I just fear Lau on offense.
Lau is a beast if someone knows how to rushdown properly. Lau has the range,combos,and good throws too. If you play a Lau that knows how to combo and throw ,then you better be deadly afraid!

 

He drives me nuts also. Legit good, and I don't get a chance to pull any of my stuff off.

 

Ya, that guy is beast! It's funny, but this is the first time in a fighting game online that I actually actively look to fight insanely high skilled players. I think it's a testament to VF's depth. I feel like I'm getting better playing the high level players even if I lose. Once you go down Virtua Fighter's Rabbit Hole there is no turning back. You just want to see what these characters are capable of in the hands of a skilled player!!

 

I agree, though it's getting them to accept your challenges that seem to be the hard part for me right now.

While I may have been digged for my performance as of late, I feel that I wouldn't have learned as much as I have had it not been for fighting those high ranking players. It's helped me with my movement and taught me not to always go on the offensive as it can always be countered.

Lau's one of those dudes that showed me that and I always fear playing him online now. but always makes for a good game nonetheless! lol

 

Its the whole online/offline thing for me, online I fear Lau more then anyone, purely because slightest bit of latency and fuzzy guard is a pipe dream for me and those high/low mix ups are just scary. Offline it used to be Akira, but seeing as I've played against Akira more then any other character (as the guy who got me into Vf mains him) now its Shun, because he has so many tools its like fighting a swiss army knife lol .....so in essence for me a character is only as scary as the amount of expierence you have going against them.

 

Shun. I hate shun. Blaze is close behind. But Shun, omg I never know what that dude is doing.

 

Shun....I fucking hate fighting Shun.

He's the Voldo of this game. I never know where he's coming from, how to stop him, or what to hit him with. How it's possible for him to knock me out of my low sweep while he's laying on the ground is beyond me...

I hate that old drunk bastard...

 

Propably Taka-Arashi.. Cause you know its going to take more to stop him than most..

Sarah.

Whenever I am fighting at least slightly capable Sarah, I feel like fighting damn uphill battle...

Cage....lol (looking at you Dention!!). Haven't figured this character out yet against the high level players. There is a difference between being beaten, knowing what's coming, and just not being able to do much about it..... And being beaten not feeling like your really understand the character. Might have to sit down and go through his moves to figure it out. Ugh....

Pai. Every Pai ive played has been solid to really good(To me anyway) and I struggle with reading her.

 

For me it's Sarah, when she goes into her Flamingo stance I have a really hard time trying to beat her.

 

Goh and Sarah, and to a lesser extent Shun.

Goh - Most of the players online know two strings they repeat ad nauseam, and if they tag me once I can't get out of it.

Sarah - I hate the Bryants and their backflip. I can dispatch her without too much problem

Shun - I can never tell what he's doing, so I end up playing keepaway on him, which is considerably counterproductive.

 

Taka (if the player's good) is a monumental pain in the ass...he doesn't bounce, he has crazy strings....just frustrating.
Sarah is annoying (all the fun of fighting Jacky, but with flamingo!)
Eileen...I don't have a clue how to handle her when she's being used by a decent player.
I main Lei and alt with Shun, so maybe that's why Taka is first on my list (soooo heavy)

 

So far I've found myself gripping my pad tightest when fighting strong Aoi and El Blaze players. I haven't met up with a good Lau or Taka yet, but I'm sure they'll be added to the list when I do.

 

For me its mostly Jeffry & Kage.
