He made it al up himself.
Try to hunt down the oscar winning documentary When we were kings.
It got an oscar a few years ago after having been in limbo since 76 when the Rumble in the jungle took place.

    "Float like a butterfly.
    Sting like a bee.
    Your hands can't hit
    what your eyes can't see."

"If you even dream of beating me you'd better wake up and apologize."

"Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams  they all have different names, but they all contain water. Just as religions do  they all contain truths."

"The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life."

"It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I just beat people up."

"I didn't say I am the smartest. I said I am the greatest."

Ali: "Superman don't need no seatbelt!"
Stewardess: "Superman don't need no airplane either."

"Moore has been living on the fat of the land,
Now its time for his pension plan.
Don't block the aisle and don't block the door,
You all may go home after round four."

"They say Liston was great, but he must fall for me in eight."

"What's this about Joe Louis beating me? Slow-moving shuffling Joe Louis beat me? He may hit hard, but that don't mean nothing if you can't find nothing to hit."

"You've got to give him credit. He put up a fight for one and a half rounds."

"Your the champ and I'm beating you up."

He's called Brad Burns because that's his ring name. I remember some guy from Sega said that during an interview.

This game is made by japanese for the japanese. You might as well complain about all the stereotypes in Holywood movies. There's more examples in that field...

It's hard to believe they couldn't just take five minutes to make up an Italian sounding name. It would also only take them five minutes to find out that no one is named Jeffry, but I guess that it's just too much trouble for them to bother to research "gaijin" names.

Actually I have met someone whose name was spelt that way.

Geoffrey, Geoffery, Jeffrey, Jeffery, Jeffry...they exist.

Yeah, the spelling of Jeffry's name doesn't really bother me either, but it's JEFFRY /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif (you know what I mean) It's kinda weak. I'm use to it now though, I can't imagine him with another name. But they definitely need to give Brad his real name : Alessandro Del Piero /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I suppose American knowledge of Japanese first and last names is any better? I've seen Japanese characters in Western books, games, and movies whose names DO NOT EVEN EXIST.

I don't make allowances for old men...

Has to be the nails on the chalkboard expression for Lion with me. I really don't think on a whole Virtua Fighter needs more story. But I think they should get some class A hollywood talent to do the voices, instead of bad Canadian voice actors.

    Ving Rhames as Jeffry
    The Rock as Wolf
Some Chinese Guy as Lei Fei
    Don Knotts as Lion

You get the point. Then the cheesy lines would at least sound cool. I'm glad Virtua Fighter is giving Don Knotts a chance for a comeback.

Yeah, I know, but since VF is such a meticulously well designed game one expects the same quality in all other respects...

What about something like Mario Giovanni? But even If they gave him an Italian sounding name, Sega would probably screw it up and give him a bad stereotypical accent to match.

    Mario's winning quote: "I kick-a you face, I knock-a you out! Capisce?"

I think after you beat the Kumite mode or quest mode, they should show a movie clip of the virtua fighter 4 tournament and who wins and who loses and stuff. that will be sweet.
and we should be able to save it of course..

what i mean by a movie clip is,

if you become emperor or high king in VF4 kumite, they should show you a movie of people actually fighting in the tournament. show all the loses and wins, and the comments..

    i think i repeated myself..but meh
