I think because you've played Demon Souls so profoundly long that that gave you a huge advantage going into its successor. Players like myself, new to the series, have a hell of a time.

Dark Souls, y u so ez? Finished the game, hoping for a real challenge in NG+

Demons Souls was harder which is sad, the last-half of the boss's in dark souls were a big joke for the most part, disappointing.

People should know that Kamais powerleveled his char (Strength build) by soul-farming before taking on any real challenge in the game...

Should people really know that? [IMG]
Deprived is only hard at the beginning, then he can pick up equipment and be like anyone else. I was a warrior.

Man, I invaded someone who was clearly stronger then me, took like a 100 back-stabs to kill the fucker. I have a ton of pvp experience from Demons Souls though so that gave me the edge. I got a whopping 300k souls for my efforts, not bad!

I'm really excited about the "adjustments to the player matching conditions" because it really needs some more work put to it.

I played a bit of dark souls, defeated the monster at the very beginning under leveled, without any weapons. L337 skills. Get on my level.

Re: How to Easily Beat Havel the Rock (Undead Burg)

Got this yesterday. Rolled a theif. Been stacking on dex (seemed like a good idea). I'm at the bell gargoyles near the start. Level 20 stats are:

    Vit:13
    Att:11
    End:9
    Str:12
    Dex:23
    Res:10
    Int:12
    Fai:11

Died a few times near the start when I was adjusting to the game but when I figured I can hold my sheild up and simply walk behind someone and insta-gib them it became much easier. I'm sure later monsters will be tougher but at the moment it has been pretty straight forward.

Notable kills besides the bosses are some guy deep in a tower in the undead burg. There were loads of messages saying "Be wary" of this and that. I killed him on my first go by using my usual strategy of "walk behind, stab". Dropped a few thousand souls and a ring that let's me carry more shit.I dunno if I can sell my shit and I wasn't gonna use it so I dropped every battleaxe and other shit I had.

I killed the dragon on the bridge's tail. There was a bunch of messages about saying weak point tail and try projectiles. So I whipped out my bow and shot it a few times and got a drake sword. It's pretty good but my guy is too weak to use it effectively. When you weild it as a 2h you can use RT to shoot a big shockwave along the ground.

Some big lightningy demon thing near the church where you fight the fat guy and get the lifts back to the starting area. He's way underground across from a fugly blacksmith. He was way too easy. I stood off to the left hand side, his lightning was hitting a broken pillar pulled out my bow and just started shooting the shit out of him. Funny thing is that the weakest point on him I could find was his right leg. He dropped a demon titanite (or something similar sounding) dunno what to do with it. I could go to a mad place afterwards but a big tree came at me so I got the fuck out of there.

Oh, I also killed a big guy in the undead burg just before that bit with the flaming barrel. There's a kickass ring behind him which ups your defence when your HP is low. Kinda useful when you're as squishy as I am.

At the moment because my dex is decent I can fuck up things with my bow and regular arrows. One headshot kills the trash. Also, I'm pretty sure throwing knives scale with dex cause I do 50 odd damage when I headshot a bitch with it makes those guys who try and parry you a piss take when you see them take that stance.

I died once against the bell demon (just after the second one appeared) so I'm gonna get some souls, by a shit tonne of bombs and go fuck them up.

Is there anything else I should check out? At the moment I'm using my Bandit's knife +2 and the default thief armour.

    Anyone else playing a thief?

Oh! I also went into the catacombs near a graveyard. Couldn't see shit and then a skull turned red and started screaming at me so I promptly fucked off.

Judging from where you are you need to go back to that forest where the tree was that scared the shit out of you. There's a illusionary wall beside a mystical door that has a bonfire in it when broken down, GL!

I'm still playing the hell out of this, i'm on NG++ on PS3 just trying to finish up the trophies now.

I also bought it for 360 to do an entire co op run through with my brother, we've been blazing through it so far so we're still low level. If anyone needs help send me a message on xbox live.

Dark Souls surprises me again and again every time I load it up. This is truly a game you will never feel bored with.

I'm still struggling on my way through the Tomb of the Giants...
