    Haha, true true. Ein's alt costume(s).... just... too gay [IMG]
    I guess SOME customization would be fine. I don't really need it that much myself. I'm wondering more what the stages will look like. DoA always was the best when it comes to those (and the interactivity, even if sometimes silly). Wonder how many walls one would be able to be crushed through before hitting a "solid" wall [IMG]

    Every fighter should aim to have customization like SC4. Even Tekken dropped the ball in that department IMO.

    This is still rumor and not official confirmation, but its obviously been in development for a while, a big franchise and its a good time for fighters. Tecmo know its time for a new DOA.

    Sega know this about VFR as well, so people stop freaking out.

    DOA and VF are the best fighters around imho and it will be great when new editions come out for each, it looks likely this year.

    The two games are the closest to each other in terms of basic gameplay (3 button, string based moves, excellent universal systems). So no hate people, both are great games and the communities of each will benefit from new releases and good attitudes by players to encourage players to try these games.

    Yeah Considering sega started the whole thing. so Far VF5R has the wicked customizations. ITs alost to the point where i think i won't see nothing else and im suprised when Lau has a fucking Dragon Head and not just a mask. Or when Jacky Has Axel from Streets of Rage outfit on with a Cool scarf and a halo with a Name plate flag on his back.

    DOA is still a Fun Game and ill play it more than Tekken because Tekken Devs know better...DOA is a free-For-All. Besides they Own the Background department in fighters.

    The stages were always my favourite part of DOA.

    The one with the cars in DOA4 was awesome.

    DOA 3.1 for the old xbox had the best ss mechanic... It ended up being a glitch, but it was the best thing going for it... Alot of cats that follow the series will agree that after DOA 2, this was the best one... Some say its better... I do remember the game having some throw breaks for input throws, but I've only done it in 4...

    As for the best stage, imo I'd go with the tatami mat stage... No extra damage done by falling, just pure skill... No stupid dinosaurs, no fighting on ice/water, no stupid cars, or cheesy techno music and electric walls...

    I can't think of any input throws you can escape in DOA4, perhaps you're thinking of breaking the combo counters?

    I remember I got caught by one of Tina's throws, and I managed to break it in the middle of the 2nd and 3rd part without the other person screwing up the input... Iunno, I almost want to test this out but I'm playing MUA2 right now...

    mmm.

    I can't really remember Tina's throws, I haven't played in a long time.

    It might be possible to break some combo throws but others like Hayate's Raijin and Ryu's Izuna drop are completely unstoppable.

    That's because he's a top-tier ninja... The impossible becomes possible with one of those 4... I mean look at the tourneys that get held. I think one Lisa player won one, and maybe a Jann player... Everybody else who wins uses ninja...

    But yeah I don't think their chain throws are breakable... I might look that up...

    I think only multi-throws were escapable where you were on the ground at the time after the first part AND if it didn't have an automatic followup throw, you could escape. Also, most if not all back multi-throws were inescapable.

    Some examples:

    Inescapable
    Hayabusa's Izuna (air)
    Kasumi's Frankensteiner (auto followup)
    Hayate's warp throw (air)
    Bass' lift up powerbomb (air, DOA3 only)
    Lisa's Deja Vu (auto followup)

    Escapable
    Bass' Manhattan Driver and Oklahoma Stampede
    All of Tina, Leon and Bayman's multi-throws (Excluding back throws)
    Jann Lee's Bulldog Headlock
    Lei Fang's three part combo throw

    It was with Kokoro. The winner that year, 2007, was Black Mamba with Helena. Neither are top tier ninjas. The year before, Offbeat Ninja won with middle tier Ein.

    It's a very balanced game. With similar basics and similarly small communities, it would be good to see DOA and VF fans supporting each others scenes when both new versions come out. (Neither is announced by new versions are assuredly coming.)

    Let's hope if/when DOA5 gets released its takes the good points from DOA3 and DOAU2.

    Namely:

    * At least four reversal levels like DOAU2, being upper level, mid, mid kick and low, although really five like in DOA2 Hardcore might be even better for top level play
    * DOA3 level of reversal damage; none of the ridiculous 1/4 lifebar in DOA2
    * DOA2U reversal window
    * Not sure on whether to kill or not if the opponent falls of a ledge; DOA2 did great damage when u knocked someone off but you could never kill someone with this. DOA3 did less, but ledges could kill; I think just stick with the system from either and it should be fine
    * No simplified inputs; not only is it hard to take seriously, it messes people up, namely about the "context sensitive" button inputs
    * Recovery roll like in DOA3 when u get hit by a knockback move
    * More stuff needs to be made throw punishable
    * No wall and ukemi nonsense like in DOA4
    * Balanced rooster
    * Include Gen Fu =)

    EDIT: Oh yeah:

    BTW, I'm not too concerned if DOA doesn't fix its mechanics like it should because in the beginning its always been a Dumbed down VF clone. So really, improving its system would just bring it closer to VF and I already like DOA for the fact its better just for casuals.

    Re: Dead or Alive 5

    If I remember correctly, DOA has no fireballs, lighting, or fighting animals is that right?

    I know you can knock or kick your opponent completely across a stage, but I can't remember the juggles and launches.

    In DOA can you juggle your opponent with 10 or more hit combos across a stage?

    I remember DOA2 on PS2 seemed to be closer to VF than it was to
    Tekken is that still true?

    You can slow escape the stuns but only if your opponent takes too long which they rarely do.
