Just watched the Kokoro vs Sarah vid and seriously what's up with the sound design in this game? Why did they make Kokoro sound like a Chihuahua that's being molested? It's pretty jarring in that vid since they've reused the audio for VF characters.

But seriously, the voice work and music are pretty bad in this game.

 

I like the music. I agree about the voice work though. The Japanese ones seem better, but maybe that's because I don't actually speak Japanese lol.

 

Where did you get animals from man? That's quite clearly a dude...

 

I got a chance to play this at SJ. Sarah felt real different than her VF self, but akira felt like he was dropped into the game from FS.

 

Akira was slightly altered to accomadate the game's controls. his p+k+b moves were changed to p+k. his knee feels easier to pull off as well. i can get it almost once ever 5-6 tries. in vf5fs maybe zero out of a thousand.

 

omg his knee is 100 times easier to pull off. I like how 2P is still super powerful even in DOA. I got a really good feeling hitting 2P on CH and seeing it make the opponent ragdoll. That's what 2P does in VF we just don't get that same animation.

his JFs are still a pain in the ass to pull off.

 

I only played 3 sets. 1 against denkai using sarah then two with akira in total. Our fight felt like VF in many ways, but with a whole new combo system. it's like how SF characters felt in Marvel games. Fairly intact but def different due to the system mechanics.

I'll be getting the game so I can whip DOA players with VF chars.

 

I'll also be playing Akira and Sarah. Even though I don't play them in VF and main Brad, I've been learning Akira and Sarah for the sole purpose of owning in DOA5. I've heard countless times VF Characters in DOA5 > DOA characters in DOA5.

Does anyone else have a struggle processing this game's bizarro gravity?

I mean, I am thinking of picking this game and supporting VF characters too... and I have a history of liking DoA games, especially the first three.

But as I'm watching DoA5 matches, my face really is doing o.0 in real life when I observe the way gravity seems to work in this game... That and probably also the sound of the popcorn bag in the microwave...

We'll there be any backstory to explain why VF characters are in DOA? Did I miss something?

The real question is how much will online VF be hurt come 9/25?

 

Well, I know i will be playing a great deal of DOA5 compared to VF5:FS and even Tekken Tag Tournament 2,
1. for the trophies in which u have to play 1,000 matches
2. Because it's DOA with a new coat of paint.
3. Because one of my 3 top favorite female video game characters is in it, Sarah of course.
