Dead or Alive 5 Announced for 2012! PS3 and Xbox

Yeah, Shun certainly hasn't been announced.

I find it a little odd that he'd be so approving of the mashing aspect. I mean, I get that it helps out newcomers, but even so...

 

No offense to Suzuki-san, but have you ever seen him play a fighter? He is a semi masher.

Well actually i'm sure he said shun, because we were making fun of the article where gen fu was treated like he was from vf roaster. So maybe he just read wrong. I'll ask more details.

 

We all kind of forget the original excitement of playing our very first fighting game, when all we could do at first was mash. How cool the moves looked, the awesome animations.
The initial ability to push a button and have some cool attack or dodge, is what drew most of us to fighting games in the first place. Yu Suzuki is right if you get too many negative results up front , you end up putting the game down and deciding its not for you

The question is will VF characters in DOA help create a bigger VF community by potentially drawing ppl who only played DOA in the past to try VF, or will it take VF ppl who never really gave DOA a second look?

VF5FS on PSN is starting to look kind of sparse

 

I don't imagine DOA5 will create any interest for VF5FS, but maybe if a VF6 is on the horizon it might increase hype for that... maybe.

 

You are lucky you don't play on Xbox Live. It's a fucking ghost town.

 

I don't know anyone personally trying to play this game offline. From the various boards I've seen it looks like everyone is trying to play this game online anyways.

Sucks about XBLA being a ghost town. Not sure when I'll have Internet again, but online play was wearing thin just due to th fact that its only me in the house when I'm playing.

 

Nah. Dick punch is seen as cheap and/or stupid and the knowledge of Defensice Option Selects will forever be unknown. The Hold system is seen as more intuitive and skill based, lol.

 

I also am grateful to have that. I didn't really enjoy fighting online, but I did it anyway, 'cause there were many more strong players than what I have locally.

Yo I was playing this game today with Rodney offline for 3 hrs straight dude and it was hard as hell to stop. We unlocked Pai and she feels like a beast in this game, especially when you add Korean backstep to her movement. It's madness dude. Ayane, Helena and Hitomi all feel really great too. Once I get used to getting out of the stuns and learning the mixup game defensively to get out of stuns this game is going to be a lot of fun.

Rod and I are going to be going hard at this game. DOA players beware, the VFers are coming.

Yeah man the game is really solid. Even more solid than the build I played at summer jam. I still think DOA's stun system needs some tweaking, but I guess that's just something I'm gonna have to get used too.

Although I will be going hard at this game make no mistake my heart belongs to VF. But still I gotta say Team Ninja really out did themselves with this game and I really think its gonna give everything out there a run for its money. Well everything but SFAE LOL! Ain't nothing touching that game, but another SF game.

I can't wait till Tuesday to get some games in with the DOA crew.

 

Tekken and DOA are just ways for me to improve particular aspects of my VF game play. But in my head I'm always playing VF.
